Everyone is welcome. This place is open to the public in case you were wondering. Something I immediately noticed, they don't see color here. I travel all over the country and I don't think I've ever felt so welcome at a bar/restaurant. It really does feel like family here. Debbie at the bar is a rockstar. Food and drinks are awesome. A great way to support South Bend firefighters, many of which you will probably meet at the bar. Oh and probably the safest place to hang out in South Bend and beyond. Can't say enough great things about this place. This place is as local as you can get. I really like the place, and judging by how hard it is to get in sometimes, so do a lot of other people. The food is decent and seasonal, the servers are friendly, the service is usually quick but not so quick that you feel rushed. Couple of quirks, the acoustics are horrible and it's noisy as all getout. And technically at least one member of your party needs to be a member of the firefighters' auxiliary to order alcoholic beverages. But membership is open to anyone and the annual dues are less than $20. It's a great family restaurant. My favorite meal there is the AYCE fish fry on Fridays. I was highly impressed with this place and went there from out of states. Thisbisbanclub so you need to be a member but because Ibwas visiting out of town they didn’t make me. I had the stuffed hamburger first night and chicken Florentine second night, finally ended up going back again third and last night there and had the meat loaf. The meat loaf was Hugh and definitely not my favorite but the other meals were fantastic and service was great. First night there the were packed but yet I had great service.
