J J Fish — Restaurant in South Bend

We drove here because our friends recommended this restaurant, there is no dine in, so you must carry out. The restaurant itself is dingy, sort of a hole in the wall place, nothing fancy. They have several options of different fish, chicken, shrimp. There’s other foods like fried okra, French fries, onion rings etc. Food seems to be cooked to order, so expect to wait for your food, it’s being cooked fresh, 10-15 minutes depending on orders placed before you. The food was delicious and seasoned right. My only complaint is, my car smells like fish still to this day, and we went to this restaurant 3 weeks ago. I can’t understand why the fish lingers so long, but it did, made me think a fish was left in my car overnight. I’m just very curious why their fish does this, we didn’t eat in the car, we drove 35 minutes to the restaurant...

I'm giving this restaurant five stars because I went last Tuesday to this restaurant and spent $25, I got 7 jumbo shrimps and 4 to 5 chicken wings. They were overcooked and I was very upset, it was my day off and I was treating myself to a wonderful seafood meal. I did eat some of the food, it was extremely hard to chew because it was overcooked. I returned it the next day and the owner took care of the situation. He replaced my order, everything was delicious like it usually is. I appreciate Mr J, for being professional taking care of the matter, I have been eating at this restaurant for almost 18 years. Don't support this business. The food is good, chicken was tasty as well as the fish. However the owner clearly has no concept of customer service and being respectful despite criticism. Cussing at your patrons? Really!? I understand food business is honestly a pretty stressful environment and some of the reviews on here aren't all that genuine. But it clearly shows the values this company holds. The place was a bit dirty but honestly I've seen worse. However last time I ate there I got pretty sick. All in all, it's real tasty food but that can't redeem the owner's deplorable attitude. Fix this and maybe you can turn this outlook around. Otherwise this place is only...
