McDonald's — Restaurant in South Bend

I have had MANY bad experiences at this location. Would give 1 star, but the food is fine. The employees are almost always unfriendly. Since this pandemic started, I have been to this location about 4 times. Every single time, they are wearing their face masks around their necks like necklaces while closely handling and preparing food. Now, I personally believe that as essential workers they should be receiving a higher pay/hazard pay. But since they are open to the public and everything, I want to see them wearing face masks. I asked a manager if that's okay that they wear them like that, and she said they just do it for a second to breathe. Which I get, at my retail job I have to wear one all day too. But when I need a quick breath, I wait until no person or product is near me and only have it off for about 5 seconds. But they are just working with them completely off, which is not a pleasant sight. This location has also gotten most of my orders wrong, but I usually just eat it anyway because I'd rather not start a problem. The workers also smoke break right in the drive thru area which is extremely disgusting and unappetizing, especially since I am extremely allergic to cigarette smoke. I've only been continuing to come to this location because it is conveniently right next to my house (walking distance). But from now on I'll probably just be going further for my fries and shakes. :( I do want to point out my appreciation for them working right now during the pandemic, but I'm disappointed. Welcoming crew, even as I walked through the front for the in house maintenance guy greeted me.

The cashier was super friendly A1 service with a smile, followed all expectations of her superiors and myself as a customer. She also used great suggestive selling techniques. With the famous wills you like a drink with your double quarter pounder with cheese meal.

Very clean store, back o house crew was on fire with drive thru being busy and foot traffic picking up. Got my order in a quick efficient manner.

The food was flawlessly executed with the status quo expectation of a double quarter pounder with cheese. Fries were perfectly salted.

I would normally take more photos of the restaurant but due to my dad and mom bickering I opted out but snuck a photo of the cool light fixtures that they have.

I chose the angle of the light fixture because it reminds me of what it would be like if we had a 4 banger eclipse a moon in front of our sun in front if another star in front of another star. Unfortunately we live in a single star system and not a binary nor quadraticary star system. So it looked really cool McDonald’s always goes above and being when picking more of the modern retro designs.

I can never say enough about McDonald's I have loved them since childhood but I only stopped in to this location for a Sierra mist. I asked the cashier, Youngster where the Taco Bell was. I thought he should know and it didn't seem that inappropriate to ask but do you think there's a chance in the world he would have any idea where something like that is in his own town? He did know that it existed but absolutely could not help me And when he was finished with me, he immediately turned his back to the window and went to pounding information into his personal phone. If that had been me, I would have found the Taco Bell location and connected up My customer to that location to show my resolve in assuring all transactions are handled in a professional manner. But he did not have the intelligence of a small soap dish. Certainly not McDonald's fault but that kid will be somebody that I will think about in perpetuity As another of many prime examples of not only what -not- to- do, but A good reason why his name will never go forth chanted in the streets and they won't write any songs about him.
