We’ve been wanting to try this place for a while. We had a generally positive experience overall, but we did see opportunity for them to improve. Here are a few positives: Great vibe with a simplified target menu that works. All the basics from a burger and dog joint. Loved that they didn’t hold back on flavor, seasoning and accoutrements. Prices were cheap, ordering was simple, service was fast. They have a great location with inside & outside seating and takeout. The cheeseburgers were tasty and the fries and onion rings were exceptional. I was caught off guard by the term “dirty” when asked if we wanted our cheeseburger that way. Maybe a little more guidance at the door when we said we were first timers would help. The two negative were the cleanliness inside and the size of the burger itself. Many surfaces could have used wiping down for sure. As for the burger size, they could easily add to the size and add a dollar and nobody would blink. It looked more like a McDonald sized single, not like a Five Guys single. I like the softness of the bun but a quick toast would help people keep the sandwich together. Our preference that bread supports what’s inside. Overall a good quick meal. As stated, if we had instruction at the register to get doubles we would have. That’s something that can be fixed and shake out. Again, same with a quick walkthrough with cleaning. With a small place messes stand out. Solid place for an economical meal. They’re onto something with balancing cost with offering good value. Next time we’ll try...
Read moreHoping that this place gets better over time! We tried to order over the phone (or at least get a sense of how busy things were), but could not get through. My husband then drove over only to be told that they weren't taking any new orders for another 20 minutes. After milling about for a while, he finally ordered the food, but was told it was a 40 minute wait to actually get it; if someone could've either picked up the phone, or if they could figure out a way to do mobile/online ordering, some of these issues could be easily bypassed. The food itself was... OK. The burgers were small and not anything to write home about, and the chili cheese fries were pretty basic. We also got two different kind of hotdogs and both consisted more of the toppings than anything else (picture standard thin hotdog in a standard bun, but with a giant pile of slaw on top). Realistically, this is still a pretty new place, so it's understandable that they are dealing with some growing pains. If they improve over time, we would definitely consider going back someday! For now, Gravy and Earl's are far better options in...
Read moreMy husband and i decided to try Lee Frank's tonight for the first time. Super excited since there are not many food places in South Berwick. I want to start off by saying that the food is decent. But there were a few things that we found disappointing as a first time customer. We called several times to see if we could order ahead of time but all we kept getting was the voice-mail. So we gave up and my husband drove there to put the order in. He said the place was busy but also observed that at least 1 out of the 3 girls working up front could have easily been answering phones. He orders 3 cheeseburgers made 3 different ways, chili cheese fry, chili cheese dog, and a few other things. 2 out of 3 cheeseburgers were made incorrectly and one of them was cooked super rare. The chili dog did not come with cheese, not sure what happened there? This place has potential, but definitely needs workers who can pay attention to detail and also care about the job they do. We would definitely give this place another shot, for sure. Maybe next time will be a different...
