Go somewhere else or bring your own meal, eat before coming to the airport - this place is not set up to do a good job at service.
When I approached I saw there was trash and garbage all over the floor at the pickup counter and a pretty dirty dish rag and coffee spills and sugar all over the counter with multiple to-go orders sitting there with no one attending or trying to get the food to customers who had ordered and paid for their meals. It did not look incredibly busy, just very poorly attended.
I was second of two people in line, and when it was my turn the cashier looked at me twice and then walked away with their friend (also working there?) for almost ten minutes. Maybe it was a bathroom break? The person with dark curly hair finally returned and I ordered my food and a coffee, they added the cream for me and my cup was absolutely massively overfull, when I opened it to add sugar it was spilling all over the place, I couldnât even touch it without coffee running all over the counter. I had to ask one of the line cooks to help me pour some out. The coffee was very medium/cool-warm (not hot - at all) ⌠and I hate to say it but there was egg shell in my crepe (that didnât bother me too much, it was just one more thing that added on).
I hate complaining like this but it was just a bad experience overall. The staff was generally nice, but lacking coordination and direction. I donât want anyone personally singled out for this experience, what really should happen is a manager needs to understand the conditions of the customer experience here and how badly that reflects on the Skinny Pancake, the BVT airport, and my time here in VT in general. The prices have definitely been raised more than enough to compensate for âall the reasonsâ that costs have risen in general, and there really is no good reason why this type of experience should be happening.
I hope that things pick up for this place, the food tasted delicious and I enjoy the sentiment of a nice meal before I leave the airport, but next time Iâll just go somewhere else, I like keeping my experiences here in VT on the...
Read moreThere are 2 Skinny Pancakes in the Burlington Airport and this review is on the smaller location near security in the âDelta terminalâ â the other larger location which has a bar is in the âAmerican and United terminalâ more than Âź mile away (seriously it is a really long walk). UPDATE: As the only place for breakfast in BTV, weâre happy if theyâre at least open at 5am when most of the flights leave BTV. There is always a line to order, so I tried the touch screen but couldnât get the order placed because it wouldnât take my credit card despite trying multiple different credit cards. So after 10 minutes of this, I went onto the long line. At 6am, I was lucky to get the last bagel (not the cinnamon raisin I wanted but a sesame seed) for $4.29 and $1.25 cream cheese. $6.99 for a chocolate croissant. No real OJ but some odd flavor that wasnât even orange. Did we mention the mostly surly service from very grumpy cashiers? The âback of house wageâ tacked on is wrong and must be there because the owner isnât paying proper wages or the front isnât sharing the tips. We really wish that BTV would allow a chain to sell food because supporting local shouldnât mean waiting on line for overpriced food.
PREVIOUS If youâre stuck on those crack of dawn 5am-6:30am flights, there are no other choices â nothing else is open. And about 50% of the time, neither is this location. It has very limited choices â mostly pastries and bagels â they can toast items. Now that you know what youâre up against â we ordered a cinnamon raisin bagel toasted with cream cheese (packets) for $6, a $4.75 chocolate croissant and a $1.50 banana paying a grand total of $13.87. This was definitely overpriced but not as overpriced as other airports. The items were...
Read moreThis was the only restaurant we found in the airport after we went through security, and fortunately, it was really good! The skinny pancake is really a crepe. We had just had a lunch of crepes at Creperie Chez Suzette in Montreal (price were $20 for two crepes in your entree/dessert), so we rounded out the day with a dinner of crepes at Skinny Pancake. We shared the Johnny Crepe - maple BBQ pulled pork, caramelized onion, cheddar cheese in a cornmeal crepe with a side of coleslaw and BBQ sauce. It came with one crepe for a little over $15. It was really delicious! We also got the Beets & Sweets - roasted beets, sweet potatoes with Vermont Creamery chevre and local honey. With the late lunch, it was enough to share and keep us filled.
You need to order food at the bar or front counter since there is no waitstaff to take your order at the tables. Order alcoholic drinks at the bar. You can sit at the bar or at a the table. We already had a tab open at the bar, so we ordered with the bartender who gave us a number and someone brought the food to us at the table.
For the menu, there are other savory or meat crepes, vegetarian and vegan crepes, one salad, burgers, fries, breakfast, and dessert or sweet crepes. Of course, they serve...
