The bagels and food are great. But if your dining out budget matters to you, check the price first. I was really surprised and, honestly a bit irritated to have twice ordered takeout only to have the final price be significantly higher than on their in store and online menu.
I would have emailed or submitted a message directly however there is no website or place to contact online.
I was really excited to find this great little bagel shop right in Taylors. Honestly, the bagels are great and the people are nice. I've been getting the 2oz lox bagel as a bit of a treat when I'm really busy with work and need to eat.
I totally understand the cost of food has gone up for everyone and restaurants must raise their prices to compensate. But it's also important to be transparent with your customers.
The 2oz lox bagel use to be (within the last year) $10. I went a few months ago and when they rang me up it was around $12/13. I asked and was told, yes, unfortunately costs have gone up and they knew they needed to update their menu. Ok, it happens and I understand.
I ordered the same over the phone for takeout today. They're online menu says $11.30. when I picked it up it was $16 and change. Again, I asked thinking maybe I was accidentally charged for the 4oz. No, prices went up again. It just felt like a bait and switch. I would have really appreciated being informed of the total when I ordered as truthfully, I wouldn't have spent over $17 with tip on a bagel. I'd have gotten something else. But once I was there I felt obligated to just pay since they'd made it for me.
Just saying, please be more considerate of your customers and inform them of your new prices.
I will still come here for bagels and recommend them. But I will not get...
Read moreI went by to grab a bagel on the way to work and stood at the counter for 5 minutes waiting to be helped while people just stood around doing nothing. The girl that was working the register when I walked in looked at me and then walked off as I stepped up to the counter. When someone finally helped me I asked how long for a bacon egg and cheese bagel and they looked around and said "eh were busy so probably 20 minutes." Needless to say, I left without a bagel. There was no one in front of me in line and maybe 2 people that had already ordered and were waiting on food I don't consider that busy. The girl behind the counter was just standing there looking at me. I don't know if she was completely incompetent or just hungover but maybe if the staff was actually working it wouldn't take 30 minutes to make one bagel. I can't rate the food but I'm guessing it must be pretty good because they aren't still in business because of their...
Read moreThe older guy with longish hair own owns/has worked the grill for years is a huge jerk. I've come here for years, and he's always been this way. He consistently acts like the smallest request is a huge inconvenience. He's just downright rude. Once, I saw my food being put on the counter for pickup, and thinking I had missed my name being called, went up to get it. I joked about not hearing him, and his reply was a curt "that's because I haven't called you yet." Well, excuse me! Also, the food is nothing special. It's bagels and cream cheese, how can you mess that up? The service is SLOW on a good day. Expect to wait in line for forever, even if they aren't busy. The older lady is also very unfriendly. They routinely leave things off orders or get details wrong. The location is convenient for me to meet friends for breakfast before work, but I wouldn't go out of my...
