Bubba’s BBQ
Bubba’s has always been one of my favorite spots. Even though I live on the other side of town, I do not mind the 20 minute drive because the food is usually worth it. But today was a completely different experience and honestly, it left a bad taste in my mouth and not because of the food.
I pulled into the drive-thru and placed my order. The cashier asked me to hold on while they checked how long the wait would be for the car ahead of me. When she returned, I was told to park in spot one. The car behind me was sent to spot two. The car in front of me eventually received their order and left, which allowed others to move up. Another car was pulled up, then another sent to spot three. Meanwhile, I continued to wait.
I sat and watched car after car who had all ordered after me get their food and drive away. Even one of the customers looked at me through her window with a puzzled expression, like she knew I had been ahead of her in line.
I ended up waiting almost 30 minutes for a simple order: Calabash chicken, mac and cheese, and fried okra. When the food was finally brought to my car, there was no apology, and not even a thank you for waiting. Just a handoff of the bag and that was it.
This is not the kind of service I expect from a place I go out of my way to support. I understand delays happen, but communication and courtesy go a long way. A simple acknowledgment would have made a big difference. It is disappointing to feel like your time and money...
Read moreBefore I start, I called and asked for manager and they gave me Whitney which I gave a chance to make this right, because I really don't want to hurt this business. That being said, Saturday I ordered 4 plates and an extra sandwich total $31.02, (which I cannot find my receipt, but I do have my bank statement) I also ordered 2 sandwiches from another bbq place on John B White Blvd. The crazy thing is I like this BBQ better until I found a dead fly in my sandwich, I've been puking for 2 days thinking about eating maggots, needless to say I'm on my way to doctor, and I'll be going to DHEC in the morning, (I know they can test the fly so this place knows I'm not lying) When I called, not a sorry, kiss my butt, nothing except there's nothing I can do without receipt, well I told her my entire order and I told her I had bank statement, so my conclusion, customer service is nonexistent and I definitely won't be eating here ever again. 1st and last time. Update: Well I found my receipt which is why the manager "Whitney" couldn't do anything for me, and now the owner will have to call me back, which she didn't get my name or number either of the times I called. So what does that...
Read moreFound this place while traveling through Spartanburg. I probably eat at at least one or two different BBQ places a week while travelling and this place ranks up there among the best. I got the pork and bash chicken with green beans and fried okra and my girlfriend got the pork, beef hash, and ribs with mashed potatoes and macaroni (and cheese) pie. The pulled pork was some of the best ever, and the ribs and chicken were top notch also. The beef hash was a tad salty, but still pretty good. Okra was great, and the macaroni pie was amazing. The green beans and potatoes were pretty good as well. My one complaint was that they only had two kinds of sauces, and I really didn't jump up and down for either, but the meat was good enough to not really need sauce. Highly recommended if you are in the area. Cheap with huge portions for...
