I visited Regal Spartan 16 on Thursday night for the 9:45pm showing of F1, accompanied by my fiancée and two guests. My fiancée and I are both Regal Unlimited Plus subscribers, and we had each saved up over 35,000 credits in the Regal app. We redeemed 20,000 credits each for free 2D movie tickets for our guests, as we’ve successfully done before without issue.
Upon arrival, the front counter employee didn’t know how to process our redeemed rewards. He spent about 10 minutes trying before calling the manager, who briefly interacted with the system but offered no explanation and left. Eventually, the employee told us—without much confidence—that there would be a surcharge on the free tickets, possibly because the movie was in a premium format.
This made no sense to us. The movie was clearly in standard 2D, and Regal Spartan 16 does not support IMAX, RPX, ScreenX, or any premium formats in any auditorium. The employee couldn’t explain the charge, nor did he show concern in helping us understand the issue. After nearly 15 minutes at the counter and no resolution, I reluctantly paid the additional charge so we wouldn’t miss the movie.
After the showing ended around 12:40am, the lobby was empty, so I decided to follow up with management the next day. I called several times, but after ringing for a couple of minutes, the calls just disconnected each time—no answer, no voicemail.
I wouldn’t be nearly as frustrated about the extra charge if someone could clearly explain why it was necessary—especially since we’ve redeemed the same rewards before without paying anything extra. Instead, the staff was unhelpful, management was disengaged, and the theater has been unreachable ever since.
Sadly, Regal Spartan 16 has gone downhill. While I’ll likely return due to my subscription, I cannot recommend this location to others based on...
Read moreI do enjoy the actual theater as well as the seating. However the almost always long, ticket purchasing line moves relatively quickly, the concession line does NOT. The lines to purchase simple popcorn, drinks, candy, nachos, etc. never fails, in my several experiences, to be LONG and SLOW. I don't get it with this cinema; as I have been to hundreds of movie theaters with long lines, and I have never experienced a consistently slow situation like this anywhere else. I really get to the point of resentment when I am in this line to spend a fortune on average snacks and for some freaking reason, the cashier has walked off for extended periods of time. I'm not implying that the CSR isn't working to maybe, go get popcorn, but seriously, what are they doing for 5 minutes? If it's something like 'waiting for popcorn to finish,' maybe consider taking additional orders so people that maybe just need a drink or something that IS available can actually get and return to their movie. I always get to movies early if planning to purchase snacks, but that amount of time that I allow myself at ANY of theater, doesn't work here. I have been late seating for EVERY movie here because of this nonsense and lack of training for the CSRs. And come on, your a movie theater; HAVE A sufficient supply of the item you KNOW your going to sell the most of here... I want to mention, also, that it has not mattered if I am going to a movie in the late afternoon or evening, it's ALWAYS a problem. To be fair, I do always go here, for some reason it has turned out, on a Saturday or Sunday 4pm; 6pm; 8pmish movies but still. Get it together. If I had a closer theater option, I'd never go to this cinema. And when I do have the option, provided time, I do...
Read moreThere is definitely a need for more kiosks. I made a visit to a 4D theater in NC, and they had self-serve drinks stations. They also had a bar. So I believe a self-serve drink station would be a definite improvement, or at least a designated person and station solely for refills because waiting in line is bad enough. You are having to wait behind those who are not sure what they want, when all you want is a refill. Missed a significant part of my movie doing that. Not to mention, staff are clueless about Crown Club/points. I had to wait even longer because staff had to ask TL 4x. I had to scan my QR code 3x. I was almost about to say forget it. Missed the beginning of my movie because of popcorn (waiting for staff to be educated 2x). Then, once I'd returned to purchase a drink, I'd missed even more of my movie. Other than that, the lobby was very clean, and the staff was friendly and professional. The popcorn tasted great, not burnt. The soda was fizzy, not flat, and thank goodness they didn't fill the cup up with ice because I had to share with 2 little ones. If the establishment could work on cutting down the lines, ie. By adding more ticket kiosks, self-serve drink stations, or a station solely for refills; I believe they would have a better flow. Update March 2024 I'd purchased the refillable popcorn bucket and drink when they'd 1st advertised it. Tell me why it is smaller than the regular large deals. To top that, you don't even get at least 1 free refill. That is unless it's your original 1st day of purchase. Very disappointing Regal. Back to the...
