Chen's Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in South Carolina

Terrible experience and poor customer service. I decided to try this place instead of my go-to Chinese take out on platt springs. I ordered general tsos, sweet and sour chicken (combos), and crab rangoons. The sweet and sour chicken was dark and looked like it had been fried in old grease and/or done more than once. It LITERALLY made my roommate physically sick after 2/3 bites. The general tsos tasted like the kind you buy in the frozen food section of the grocery store, actually worse tbh. The crab rangoons were stuffed with cream cheese (normally a good thing) but the cheese had a weird taste to it and the rangoons were smothered with old grease so badly the cream cheese was falling out the center of the rangoon (almost like a part of it was vastly undercooked dough). I barely had any of the food obviously (I had 2 bites, roommate 3 - who as I said was sick from just that). You couldn't really tell it was even touched when I returned to inform the lady at the counter. I explained all of this to her and she tried to debate with me about the quality of the food (laughable considering my roommate was at home vomiting). She refused to refund more than a few dollars of the order because "other customer were fine," "this lady just came back today and ordered more" etc. She was completely apathetic to the fact that not only was the food terrible, but that it made someone ill. Not to mention i returned all of it! (I sure as hell wasn't going to eat it!) So she took back the food and I left with a small portion of what I paid because I gave up on trying to reason with such poor customer service! I havent decided on disputing or not considering the situation. I can PROMISE you I will NEVER go back there. AVOID this place. China Wok, Antai, Ganbei, Miyabi Jr are all local and INFINITELY better in EVERY aspect IME. Too many good Asian places to give your business to one...

This place is such a disappointment. We got the general tso's chicken and my wife and I shared it as a family size. The chicken was so hard you couldn't even bite through it. I felt like I was going to break my teeth. I've had this experience from other Chinese restaurants and it goes from the simple fact that they overcook the chicken cuz they're not paying attention. I wish I could find a good Chinese restaurant around here that gives it right every time. Please don't eat here, you will just waste your money. I know there are a lot of good reviews. Not only they very hard pieces of chicken that we received, but the pieces were so small that there were more breading than chicken. That tells me they are cutting corners with their food to save money. Again, my wife and I love Chinese food and this place was a big disappointment. The egg rolls were almost tasteless. First time eating here i'm not impressed. i've been trying to find a good chinese food place around here, this isn't it. It's not the worst but it's definitely not the best. I Ordered the crab Rangoons and they tasted bitter instead of sweet as well as bland (like plain hot cream cheese), the general tso chicken had no sauce and was extremely hard and chewey at the same time. the vegetable Lo-mein just tasted like old vegetable water and the Teriyaki chicken was extremely greasy.
