Very solid seafood restaurant in Lexington, SC. Came here with the rest of my family and ordered the whole fried baby catfish platter with coleslaw and grits, but due to lack of supply the whole fried catfish was replaced with catfish fillets at no extra charge, which was hugely appreciated. My Dad ordered the fried pork chops with mashed potatoes and my Brother and Mom got the shrimp po boy, ordering grits and coleslaw respectively. As we waited, our waitress, who was amazing, by the way, brought us hushpuppies. I'm telling you that these are the best hushpuppies I've had in South Carolina, and you can tell that they're made fresh in-store. They're savory, fluffy and a little sweet, with a lot of crunch. But fair warning, some of the hushpuppies we had were not fried long enough and raw batter was left in the middle, which was a bit disappointing. So in terms of our entrees, the fried catfish was great: tender, fresh, and I was served a lot of it. The coleslaw was decent, and the grits were amazing. In terms of the Po boy, my Mom and Brother loved the shrimp and the number of shrimp, but disliked that the way it was prepared made it very difficult to eat owing to how the baguette fell apart easily. And my Dad was disappointed with his pork chops - they were not very good when fried, though he, my Brother and my Mom all loved the sides. Good restaurant, and I can tell with some small changes and increased consistency it will hopefully be great!

Hidden little gem. I am staying nearby at campground. Rode by a few times and stopped in. Glad I did. From growing up with Murrells Inlet seafood, it's hard to find seafood that calabash style away from.the coast. The shrimp was extremely good. The batter was not flaky tempura, but not thick flour crust. It was perfect. I was stuffed after eating only half. The portion versus price was equal. You would not be disappointed. I'm going back for lunch today. My only PERSONAL negative is my first choice was going to be catfish, but waitress said its cooked with a flour base batter and not cornmeal batter. Surprised for the batter choice being I'm born and raised from Florence and had a summer house, fishing at the nearby lakes. Just a personal favorite. **Addendum ** came in for late lunch. Had combo shrimp and catfish filets. Shrimp was delicious as before, but I was misinformed in my first visit. The catfish has cornmeal in its batter. The catfish filets were light and cooked perfect. The portions seemed,at first, small but again, I found myself stuffed. It was nice not to waste food. Will be back.

Went for an early dinner (5pm on Saturday) hoping to beat the crowd based on previous posts regarding long wait times. We we're a party of 2 and there was still a long wait BUT it was a beautiful day so we ordered our food to go and ate outside on the nice picnic tables they have under some magnificent trees. We were the envy of all those who were waiting to be seated. 😜 The food was delish....well seasoned and not greasy. Hubby inhaled the green beans so I guess they were GREAT 😂 I had catfish and he had the crab cakes. Pack your patience. It's a small restaurant. And no there is not a bar 😔 (thus my 4 out of 5 stars)

I've given this a lot of thought but I can't keep my experience at this restaurant quiet. I hate to think others will spend their money on a tasteless meal like my husband and I did. We were given hushpuppies to start our meal and they were delicious. I couldn't wait for my shrimp hoping they'd be just as good but I was dead wrong. I ordered the large shrimp dinner with fries, my husband got the calabash shrimp with fries. The fries tasted greasy and you could tell they were from frozen, not fresh. I can get better fries from the frozen section at Walmart. The shrimp, both mine and my husband's were TASTELESS. When I say tasteless, I mean it. We mentioned this to the waitress who asked if we wanted something else but we figured if this is how they fry then everything will be equally tastless. So we kept our meals but it seemed the more we ate the worse it got. The breading tasted like fried plain flour, no seasoning whatsoever. So we decided to peel off the breading and eat the shrimp on it's own but that was no better. The shrimp didn't even taste like shrimp. They totally lacked any flavor. I don't know what was done to the shrimp but they were void of ANY flavor. I tried putting salt and pepper on them but they only tasted like salt and pepper. They were cooked well but NO FLAVOR...NONE. They were honestly the worst shrimp I have ever had. The waitress told the manager and the manager took off less than $3 off of our bill and suggested grilled for our next visit and that she would deduct 1 of our 2 plates off the bill when we return. We truly appreciate the efforts of our waitress, she seemed truly sorry and embarrassed about it although it was absolutely not her fault. Thanks for the small deduction on our bill but it will be a long time, if ever, until we return. If you really want customers to return and be happy, please fix the issue. No one likes to pay for a nasty,...

I was pretty disappointed with the whole experience.i know you guys just opened but please read your reviews and make your changes. It seems like the nicest people there were the door men. The hostess was not friendly and never smiled. She made you feel like it was a burden to put you on a wait list. Our waitress was okay, not very welcoming but took our orders correctly and got our stuff out as fast as the kitchen could make it. So you get "complimentary" hush puppies with your table. How can you justify giving out 5 grease pocket filled hush puppies to a four top table? Shouldnt there have at least been 8 of them so we could have all gotten more than just a taste? Two of us ordered a side salad with our meals, the salad consisted of wet lettuce, 2 slices of tomato, and 2 thin slices of cucumber. No cheese, no carrot, no crouton and no offer of crackers. You would think for the price of the food that it would actually be bountiful, but I will admit that the sad tiny salad was actually the best part of my entire meal. Two of us who LOVE the blue Marlins shrimp and grits ordered them, the other two of our party ordered the "pick 3" which both people chose flounder, shrimp, and oysters. When our food came out the disappointment continued. The 2 bowls of shrimp and grits were absolutely horrid and luke warm. The two platters both had the tiniest little flounder filet, 3 tiny tiny shrimp, and 3 absolutely disgusting oysters that were filled with days old grease. All in all it was not a pleasant experience by any means. The price you charge should equate to a big amount of delicious food. Instead we paid lots of money for cold, greasy, small amounts of food with bad service to boot. I hope you make some serious changes in the next few weeks. Get rid of the high school kids with bad attitudes, bring in some new cooks, add to your menu, and rethink your...
