Had to wait a while to be seated. When we sat down, the waitress serving the family behind us was so loud and rude to the family we weren't able to enjoy our food.
That waitress interrupted the family and was rude when they asked for sauce again, apparently they asked several times and the waitress never brought their sauce, so they asked again and she got an attitude.
We had to overhear the family ask if they could get a discount because their experience was so bad, and the waitress said they won't do anything to help. We almost left after listening to all the fussing, but Papas Breakfast Nook was closed and there's not many places in Spartanburg open 24 hours. We did finally order.
Our food was tasty hot and fresh but our waitress was also rude. I asked for honey mustard with my order, and our waitress said "remind me I'll forget". When she brought out our food she asked if we wanted anything else, my husband asked for grape jelly and I asked again for honey mustard. Some time later she brought the grape jelly but forgot the honey mustard I asked for. We sat and waited and waited, we were out of drinks and I was waiting to get honey mustard to eat my onion rings.
Ten minutes later the waitress who was rude and yelling at the family behind us asked if we needed anything, we asked for refills and honey mustard. The other waitress said "we're trying to hunt down some honey mustard". Even later, our first waitress comes up and asks if we want anything. We never got the refills from the other waitress, so we asked our waitress for refills and honey mustard again. We finally got our refills, and our check, and our waitress says "sorry I was busy".
There's only 3 tables of people in the whole entire restaurant and 2 waitresses. What are you busy doing besides ignoring our table and not getting me honey mustard? I didn't even bother asking for more napkins because I didn't feel like waiting another ten minutes. I don't care that the food is decent, if we have to wait for ages to get the things we need for our meal and listen to yelling from waitresses it's not worth coming here again.
I used to eat here all the time with my family before the remodel, and Denny's used to be awesome after a night of drinking or a late night meal after a long shift. I don't feel like wasting my money eating out for this crappy of an experience. I always tip, even on mediocre service because I understand everyone can have a bad day, but ignoring our table when the restaurant is not even busy? Read moreI placed on online order on 5/5/2024 at 9:15 am . I was told the order would take 15 to 20 minutes to prepare. I arrived at the curbside pickup at 9:35 and called in to let them know I had arrived . The location was not busy . At 10:10am I called back into the restaurant to let them know I had yet to receive my order. I asked for a refund and was told I had to come in to get the refund . I went inside the restaurant and the manager said I had to call the call center back for them to issue the refund. The call center stated when I called that they just place orders and have no way to issue the refund and called the store to speak with the manager. After a 25 minute call she was unable to get a resolution and apologized for the manager providing misleading information but was unable to offer a resolution. At 10:45 a restaurant employee came out to my car and stated that the manager did not have the credentials to offer a refund and it would have to be given by the GM when they returned Monday. They offered to give me the cold food that had been sitting for over an hour but refused to issue a refund. There were three hostess standing behind the counter when I went into the store standing around as they were not busy . My order was sitting on the counter with no effort from the employees to bring it out. The manager was observed walking out with her mother to socialize in the parking lot along with other employees socializing in the parking lot. I was given the excuse that they were short staffed but if you are short staffed you should not be out socializing in the parking lot . You should be taking care of the paying customers. At left the store without food or a refund and I have to wait even longer in hopes that the GM will issue a refund. This is not a situation were someone was to lazy to walk into a restaurant yet a person who recently had surgery and it was difficult for me to get in and out of the restaurant. Read moreWe pulled into the parking lot and had to drive to the back because two of the cooks were outside sitting on the curb blocking the only open spot at the front. My husband killed one of the biggest roaches I have ever seen in the parking lot while we were walking around the building.
We were seated quickly but then ignored for 30 minutes. Finally a server noticed our annoyed faces and came over to ask what we wanted to drink. She then told us she would not be able to take our food order for another 30 minutes because the kitchen was slammed. She got our drinks wrong and we never saw her again.
20 minutes later Miss Linda showed up and took our order. As soon as she entered the order on her tablet another lady started yelling at her from across the room not to enter orders. The kitchen was slammed. Linda told the other lady that she just got there and no one told her. The yelling lady made sure to come to our table and explain that the kitchen was behind and they couldn’t enter any additional orders. I asked why they couldn’t just enter the orders and they could get to them when they could. She stated the system would move orders around and it caused issues. Made no sense to us since the dining room was no where near full.
Our food came out 10 minutes later. Not sure how the kitchen was behind if our order came out that quickly. The food was not prepared correctly but we were so hungry we ate it anyway.
