Me and my fiance @home were reading the reviews b4 deciding to go, The amount of people who go to a Cuban restaurant to order vegetarian or chicken tenders don't understand this is not a cuban specialty. U don't go to a Thai restaurant and order a cheese burger, even if its on the menu, Cuban food is what it is packed with flavor already portioned heaven on a plate. This is no where near Miami or Cuba, the fact they have brought Cuban food here shows a passion they are trying to share with a community far from where it's been perfected with authenticity. Some People now a days expect perfect service, life is by far perfect. Reading the owners responses from Lazaro tells me the dude cares and he can only fix things when he's made aware. We live 55mins from this location and are making the drive to try it, I am Cuban and already know what I'm ordering ahead of time. I'm also aware employees attitudes are not a reflection of the owners true intentions. And employees can shut a place down with poor service, also some of u gotta check urselves on ur own attitudes, most people treat others the way they are treated. Most people don't look foward to going to work and it shows, obviously the "Famous Erica" knows how to navigate through life and makes the best of work as she probably sees it as a blessing to have a job which most people dont appreciate themselves. my advice that u didn't ask for is: u don't go to Cuban restaurant for chicken tenders or a vegetarian plate, u go there for what they specialize in, each of u 1 star leaving patrons could of handled the situation differently b4 bashing a small buisness built from a passion based Idea to serve u ethnic food. I know small buisness problems and respect anyone trying to deal with the masses of the public in all its imperfections and Karen's in the world. The food industry has to be the most difficult one of all. Y que...
Read moreFeeling really aggravated tonight after I put a mobile order in at 7:29pm as I was on my way to pick my kids up from Wednesday night bible study. I chose the “curbside” pick up option where it actually stated “we will bring it out to your car”. Received my email confirmation that stated my order would be ready by 7:43pm. Rolled up exactly one minute after, pulled into curbside stall #1 of 3 directly across from drive thru where there happened to be a car already waiting for their order. Waited 8 minutes for someone to come out with my order and when no one ever did I proceeded to call the restaurant and asked the young lady who answered if my order was waiting as the emailed stated it was ready. Was then told “yeah it’s been sitting here”, which prompted my reply of “well I’ve been sitting here in curbside for 8 minutes will someone please bring it out to me.” She responded with a giggle and said “um no we don’t do that you need to pull around drive thru or walk in to grab it.” I stated “but I chose curbside on the mobile app for a reason” and she proceeded to say I needed to pull around or walk in. Just as I anticipated as I began to back up and pull around thru drive thru a car entered drive thru right ahead of me. I knew this would leave me waiting an additional amount of time as they now needed to make their meal. I now had to wait to pull out of drive thru and pull back around the building again to walk in. As I walked in 4 female employees were all just gathered at the front counter staring at me with nothing to do.
When giving your patrons an option for drive thru, take out or curbside for convenience how is it not available when the parking spots are designated and the mobile app blatantly states “we will bring it to your car”?
Drive my 10 minutes home for my husband and I to eat 2 very dry pork Cubans. Unfortunately because of this we will...
Read moreOk first I would like to say that since this location has been open I have visited on several occassions. I ALWAYS order the same a cuban sandwich without pickles and regular plaintain. I at one point in the pandemic stopped visiting this location due to the inability to order the cuban sandwich due to my visits falling within one hour of close and the sandwich press being already off. I have had a busy week and decided to try Tropical Grille again and I am extremely happy that I did. I did visit earlier than i have in the past however my experience through the drive thru was wonderful as far as experience with staff. I ordered quickly and as expected but which doesnt happen often since covid at any drive thru the employee listened carefully and then repeated back my order correctly and then proceeded to give a total price which I appreciated as many drive thrus state simply to pull around. When i proceeded onward to the window I was greeted warmly by the employee. The employee smiled and did not act like i was inconviencing her when i paid in cash and also with change. The employee returned my correct change and my reciept and then indicated my food would be out when prepared. I checkes my reciept which indicated the employee's name was Yasmine. I go out through a drive thru around once a week maybe and I have to say that this young lady Yasmine provided a quality experience and attentiveness that i havent experienced since before COVID. I will definitely return just for the stellar window service. The only downside is while my sandwich was well constructed and ultimately delicious my sandwich was made incorrectly and had pickles the only thing i asked to...
