Preliminary Rating - First time there and did carryout
First time going and did take-out of fajitas, a taco salad, and chips and salsa. Moved to SC from north Texas and closest thing I have found to Tex-Mex since being here.
Chips were fresh, warm, and salsa best I have had from a restaurant in several years. Nice heat and flavor, and my new place for when I have a craving as I could make meal out of that.
Wife and I had Fajitas which were excellent and only recommendation is to give 4-5 tortillas per portion as they only gave 3 per portion.
My adult daughter had taco salad and commented first time she had ever eaten a whole one in one sitting, so I know she liked.
Service though was very off. Tried to order online but prices were zero out on many items. Gentleman took order over phone and I drove there. When I arrived and walked in, it was not crowded (Saturday night), but at least 2/3 full. No one was rushing around. Directly to left of coming in is small bar and a couple people here and one looked like getting order. There was no server station or stand near door so I just stood there a moment as person behind counter was talking. A couple people passed by me to wait tables, and I was not in hurry but only one standing there. I looked at people and all but called out and obvious I was waiting to either be seated or had ordered carry out. No one said anything to me.
I waited maybe 2 minutes and door opens and a couple comes in. Lady who I know saw me looked right past me and asked how many to be seated and sat the couple. I was for a moment ready to walk out the door. After seating them she acknowledged me but no apology or anything. And when I explained I had ordered online, I still never really got any recognition until they gave me food and asked me to pay.
We'll go back to have a sit down and then I’ll...
Read moreThis was my first time at this establishment. The restaurant was clean and the atmosphere was about what you'd expect. The service was very good. Our waiter was prompt and checked back on us often. He kept our drinks and chips full. The chips and salsa weren't the best I've ever had a Mexican restaurant. The chips were a little dry and bland but they came out warm. We arrived around 2:30pm and I was a little surprised to see they had stopped serving lunch already (@ 2pm). We weren't really looking to have dinner yet, but that was our only option.
I ordered the Enchiladas Mexicanas with chicken. Normally it would come with one enchilada with the Verde (green) sauce. I wasn't sure about that so I asked for it on the side. Instead they gave me 2 enchiladas with cheese sauce. At $12 I thought it was a little on the high side, but it was a very healthy portion. They didn't skimp out on the chicken. Based on this experience, overall, I'd recommend giving El...
Read moreBaaaby! Decided to stop and try this place as I was passing through. Feeling under the weather and wanted some soup for nourishment. I don't know who made their shrimp soup on this day, but obviously this person loves God and put ALL of their love in it!!! It's delicious! The broth was seasoned and rich, and they were NOT stingy with the shrimp! Cooked up with mushrooms, onions and green peppers. Worth the money I paid. If ever I am this way south again, they will be getting my coins!
