The food was fair . When I went back in February the food was fantastic ! So good that when we came down now in august we went right back to it . I do understand covid issues as well as staffing as I work in retail myself . We pulled in and my elderly father in law got out of the car to ask if they could seat us . He called us while we waited in our car and he said yes they can seat us . We walked up in the heat from the car with my elderly mother in law only for them to tell us that because of safety issues they couldn’t have us come in yet ( there were 7 of us) so we were told to wait outside they said they were sorry . It was hot a humid out and my mother in law has trouble walking and breathing . When we asked if she could wait inside they said they preferred we didn’t unless we wanted to sit at the bar and order a drink . We could see plenty of seats through the window it wasn’t crowded at all . We kept waiting outside and then decided we would leave and go somewhere else . When we told them we were leaving all Of a sudden they could seat us . We went in and they placed us at a table that was empty when we first got there !!!!! The tables are not 6 feet apart . As we sat there waiting to order they filled all the tables around us ! We did not understand what was the safety issue the first time . Very weird !!!! It’s not like they were not filling all their tables because by the time we left most were filled . I ordered fish tacos which had little flavor . Completely different than February .. maybe a new chef ? We ordered a side dish and asked for nothing else on the plate yet it came with sauce and lemon . One of our party ordered a drink which never came . So we won’t come again . I have eaten worse for sure but compared to what we got there in February it’s not even close . Very small portions too. The wait staff was friendly but the person at the front who told us she rather we wait outside and could not offer a better explanation as to why we couldn’t come in should get some...
Read moreThis gem in the rough with wood paneled walls, cement floor and a partial wrap around deck, offers a taste of what the locale has to offer. Located on the southernmost tip of the Inlet, it offers a slice of tranquility away from the busyness of Murrells Inlet, but still the breathtaking view of the marsh. Seafood, prime rib, ribeye, sandwiches, pasta bowls, soups and sides are on the menu for your perusing. Fresh, local ingredients are prepared in a Lowcountry style and cooked into every bite. Our lunch selection was one of the Seafood Baskets, with a choice of blackened flounder and grilled shrimp. A side of coleslaw and fries. Not the traditional way of fish being blackened with coating of a special spice blend that takes on a very dark brown when cooked on a grill, theirs is in the seasoning. Lightly dusted and grilled, it contains its own coloring with a simple flavor that enhances the freshness and texture of the fish. Standard grilling of shrimp with a buttery flare, creamy, home style coleslaw and crispy fries. Beautiful, breezy afternoon made it even more enjoyable sitting outside. Large outdoor fans do cause quite a bit of noise and one finds themselves talking loudly over them. Parking is the usually dirt lot with no designated spots and the Wild West approach to parking. Service was friendly and commendable. Prices are comparable and one can get a decent meal at a...
Read moreFirst, let me say don't shame me for putting salad dressing on my salad. It was home made Ranch and it was a very different peppery tasting goodness that accentuated the taste of the fresh salad. I had the salmon and shrimp cakes with fried grits. The service was excellent here. The waiter checked on us multiple times making sure we were ok and had our drinks full. There was inside and outdoor seating. We opted for indoor due to the native insects. It was low tide so the insects were having happy hour. I say again the food was delicious. It was not the fanciest place I've eaten while here. But it tasted better than a couple of the fancy places I've been to recently. All the staff had masks in the entire time. Wearing them correctly also. The tables were a little closer than 6 foot but it wasn't by much. We were in a booth. And there was someone in the booth behind us but the booth back went up really high to protect from the cooties. The place was not busy when we arrived, but shortly after it was hopping. The restaurant is off the main road a bit. If you Google or Waze for directions it will take you right to it. Parking looked pretty good but didn't have any lines that I could tell. Sometimes no lines can cause for some hairy parking but everyone was behaving this time. I will definitely keep this one for our next visit. It's one of my favs...
