Typically we eat at the buffet down the road but wanted to try this place. Pond walking in we were giving sort of a dirty look from the young lady behind their register and was obviously on the phone with friend or family because it wasn't taking an order and she was laughing and joking and making comments about people while walking around and talking on her cell phone giving us dirty looks apparently because we were interrupting our conversation. I want to walk out at this point but my wife said no let's give it a chance we're already here. The interior decor appears to be for my 1970s high school cafeteria, floor was sticky and the table we were sat at was sticky and dirty. Our young waitress was very prompt and caring and checked in on us often. She gets five stars.
The tiny selection on the buffet looked non-appetizing at best and the taste matched. Mashed potatoes appear to be instant more if not just super over processed and not flavored, the green beans obviously came out of a can and had a funky taste to them, the fried fish tasted horribly like fish and I mean like sitting on the dock for a whole summer afternoon type fish. I'm guessing the cookies came out of a package and the rest of the tiny selections on the buffet we're not worth finishing what was on the plate or even considering going back for seconds. There is no way I would call...
Read moreLet me start by saying this place is not fancy and doesn’t pretend to be. What they are: simple, affordable and yummy.
First time here and undoubtedly not the last. Lori welcomed me at the door and when I told her it was my first time at Mully’s, she sweetly explained the menu options. She even gave me a tip for when I come back and my lunch time is short.
The food was home made delicious and the price surprisingly low considering the options and quality. I can eat here every day of the week and get a different meal at the same low price. Fantastic!
And the service… not only nice and sweet but my table was always clean and my glass never empty.
If I have one item of advice for first timers like me, the sweet tea is southern like sweet. If you don’t like it too sweet you may want to ask it for half sweet, half unsweetened. Even the Arnold Palmer was southern sweet. :-)
Don’t hesitate. This may well be if not the best, one of the best local...
Read moreI went in to order a to go veggie plate. My order was taken immediately. The food came out really fast so the service was fantastic. I ordered cabbage, stewed Okra and Beets. The food wasn't very flavorful. The beets had zero taste, none what so ever. I had to pour a ton of salt on them to get any kind of taste. I love them and not too many places serve beets, but these had to be stored in Water in a can! Definitely not pickled beets. The Okra was waaayyy to slimmy. I know Okra is easy to over cook but I could barely pick it up with a fork. I tried to eat every bit of it though. That was tasty. The cabbage did not have any flavor. I added hot sauce to make it enjoyable. The corn bread muffin was good. I'm going to give it another try maybe during lunch time. I went about 3:45/4 . I love southern cooking and glad you can get it in the area. Maybe this was just an off day. Also beware, they charge a 4% surcharge if you use...
