UPDATE, per Google request🫣🤣😉: 12/23/22 I randomly decided to make my guys meet me here AT LUNCH TIME IN a CROWDED LOCATION during "rush hour" in a busy spot yesterday....THREE DAYS BEFORE CHRISTMAS! Still ALL good 👍 😌 When I first got there(I beat the husband and my boys, because I'm ALWAYS early🫣😁),but let's just say that by the time my guys got there, the place was packed! I was so impressed as people poured in that this amazing staff was still ON point. WHEN my husband and 2 boys FINALLY got there, our waiter was so kind, PATIENT, and accommodating, to the point he was telling us how to get what we all wanted the cheaper way and WITH MORE FOOD! He was also very patient and so kind. Trust me, as we believe in paying it forward, he got a great tip!! BEST OF ALL, my boys really got the best GIFTS of all... Seeing this man busting his tail with the biggest smile. Checking on the boys constantly, and the food was quick but still steaming. The boys were so polite and appreciative that this waiter SAW them. And, helped them decide what they wanted. Patience and kindness go a long way, people. You get what you GIVE. I just have to commend them ALL for being THE best San Jose, HANDS DOWN! Food and staff!! FIRST REVIEW♥️ Staff is amazing! The food is ALWAYS hot and fresh, and they make the best mixed drinks, especially the Pina' Colada. WE Will NEVER eat at the Newberry San Jose again. I'll drive to Ballentine every time. AVOID the Newberry location. They are HORRIBLE! SECOND REVIEW!😌Myself, husband, and the boys went back today, and how could they get any better?!?! The food was amazing, just like last time, was hot and definitely fresh!.The Waiter was the BEST. Attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. I went there on a Monday evening having had lunch earlier in the day at the West Columbia location, service there was awesome. However, at this location it was the opposite. We ordered a margarita pitcher with salt and our margarita tasted extremely tart and like there was a cup of salt in our drinks already. We all tried each others drinks to see if we all thought the same thing so we let our server, ANTONIO know that we didn't enjoy it because there was too much salt and we asked for another pitcher to be made and for our glasses to have a sugar rim. The new pitcher tasted great so fast forward to when we get the bill. I asked could we have the first pitcher at least half off because we barely drank it and we had SAID PRIOR THAT WE DIDNT ENJOY IT. Antonio responds, "Why you didn't tell me before?" I replied, "I did. You just didnt understand what i was saying." He keeps repeating "Im not sure what you want me to do, you should've told me." Knowing that I did infact let him know that I didnt enjoy the pitcher. Basically, service was poor. Server clearly didn't listen the first time and when I asked to speak to the manager he said, "hes going to say the same thing i told you, you should've told me." Horrible. This restaurant needs a lesson in hospitality. It's not what you do, its how you do it and this here, was distasteful and rude....

This place is phenomenal and I wish I could rate it higher. The staff are always present and ready to help. The drinks will never reach the bottom before a refill is offered. As soon as your order is placed you are presented with some very good warm chips and very fresh tasting salsa.

Within about 5m of placing your order you start hearing the sizzle of a hot plate making it's way to your table. As soon as the plates hit the table you see everyone's eyes become cartoonishly large seeing the massive feast that has graced your table.

The portions are massive in comparison to other local places. I usually head straight for the fajita nachos when I go here. I included a picture which just doesn't do it justice since I forgot to add something for scale. The nachos I get come with steak, beans, cheese, and I have the onions and peppers removed. For $12 you get what looks like a 16oz steak cut into strips and laid across some of the most buttery tasting refried beans you will ever have. This pairs great with the slightly spicy queso cheese and warm chips.

If you are hungry and I mean HUNGRY but want to keep your spending at a conservative level then this is the place you go to. There's just nothing else...
