I am a loyal Sonic customer and have always loved your brand, particularly the strawberry cream slush, which I often order. However, my recent visit to the Hardscrabble Road location in Columbia, SC, on January 23, 2025, between approximately 2:00 and 4:00 PM, was deeply disappointing and left me feeling disrespected and dissatisfied due to the unprofessional behavior of the manager, Jeremy.
Upon pulling into the drive-thru, I was speaking with my passenger about my order when Jeremy greeted me over the intercom, saying, “Hello, welcome to Sonic. My name is Jeremy. How may I take your order?” Since I was still mid-sentence, I couldn’t respond immediately. Jeremy repeated himself with what felt like growing impatience. When I asked for a moment to finalize my order, he responded dismissively, “Well, just say that then.” His tone was unnecessarily rude and unprofessional.
I decided to go inside and speak with a manager, only to find that Jeremy was the manager. He appeared frantic and unprofessional, despite there being minimal activity in the restaurant at the time. Instead of addressing my concerns promptly, Jeremy made me wait while he played on the computer. When he finally acknowledged me, his response was dismissive, asking, “What can I help you with?”
When I asked if he had been the person on the intercom, he confirmed and continued to be unhelpful and combative. I requested the number for Sonic Corporate to file a formal complaint, and his response was, “It doesn’t matter if I give you the number. All corporate is going to do is send me an email to address the situation.”
Jeremy continued to challenge me, questioning the purpose of my complaint and making me feel as though he was baiting me into an argument. After finally handing me a receipt with no explanation, he dismissed me with, “Now you can go,” as if I were being kicked out simply for voicing my concerns.
This experience was disheartening and uncalled for. No customer should be met with such hostility or lack of professionalism when raising a concern. Jeremy’s behavior reflects poorly not only on this location but also on the Sonic brand as a whole. I urge Sonic to investigate this incident and review the surveillance footage from that day to ensure that this type of behavior is addressed and corrected.
I’ve always appreciated Sonic’s service, but this encounter has made me reconsider my loyalty to the brand. I hope the corporate team will take this seriously and ensure that other customers don’t have to endure...
Read moreOrdered food on the app for my husband to pick up on his way home from work last night. He arrives with our pickle fries missing so I give them a call. A gentlemen answers and immediately says this is Sonics but to let you know we’re closed (they apparently closed early) and didn’t even let me say anything without hanging up on me! I called back and someone else answers and I let them know an item was missing and he knew exactly what it was, so I asked for a refund. Didn’t help me at all besides directing me to the app. So my husband decides to drive back as this isn’t the first time this has happened and to request a refund. Upon arrival they were closed but still answered him. The gentleman let him know he was sorry and they’d make him a fresh large. Manager I’d assume (older white guy) comes back with pickle fries saying they only had a medium, which was what we originally ordered anyways. He gets home and we open the bag to find this garbage!! What the he// is this? You can’t even tell what they were suppose to be. They appear to have been trashed (they were closed, remember) and after he went to get them or a refund, they dug them back out of the trash for us! You cannot tell me no different, just LOOK at them and see it. Yuck!! They also gave me ranch but no fork. I mean, how else am I suppose to eat my pickles with ranch when I can’t dip them and need a fork, with this gross mess. I’m debating on calling the health dept as I’m pretty positive if they were to look at the cameras, they’d find something nasty happened with these before they fed them to a customer. How you see them in the box is how I pulled them out of the bag. We in no way shape or form ate this garbage. Also, our other part of the order was stale, cold and gross. If they were gonna be closing min after we ordered, they should have canceled it instead of serving nasty, old food and pickle fries from the trash. Still trying to get a refund and have yet to do so. Just 50 questions and proof with some more proof… Moral of the story, don’t go back for any missing items as it’ll more than likely be the ones they tossed into the trash and dug back out! Read moreTERRIBLE SERVICE! I stopped by this location on 12/07/18 around 7:40am to get my wife some breakfast after she got off of a 12hr shift. We pulled into one of the stalls as the drive thru was wrapped around the building. We placed our order and after 15min still no food. But we noticed the drive thru was moving very well. So I waited another 5min and went inside to see why the small order was taking so long and the drive thru moving so well. When I got inside, there were 2 other customers waiting which neither of them had not had their order taken yet and they both said they had been waiting for 10min. So I waited another 8 min and as I stood there, I observed the manager working the drive thru and not even addressing the front counter. Then after another 5min he goes outside with my order walking towards my car. So I caught up with him telling him that was my order. I also asked him why were the customers up front and outside not getting their orders as fast as drive thru. He got very smart with me and was EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL. We have been going to this location since it opened and will NOT be going back after today. If we pull to a stall and order, we should get the same fast service as the drive thru.
