We were recommended to this restaurant by the hotel staff where we were staying. We rode 6 miles to get there and were ready for a nice meal after riding our motorcycles all day. The hostess showed us to our seats and took our drink order. Soon after our waitress come to take order, I ordered the Monday night special and my wife ordered the country fried steak (which comes with white gravy) and asked that just a little gravy be put on the meat instead of the usual amount. And this is where everything went downhill. When our meals were brought out my order was correct, however my wife's order was completely wrong. Not only did she not get the country fried steak with white gravy, she was brought the same Monday night special I ordered. She sent it back and the waitress who initially took our order had the nerve to bring the plate back and told my wife that she did in fact order what was on the plate. This action was akin to a mother telling a child to eat what I made you whether you like it or not. My wife tried to explain that she didn't order this but the waitress wasn't listening at all. What happened to the motto, the customer is always right? Not wanting to cause a scene, my wife took the plate back and tried to eat it but couldn't. She also prevented me from addressing the issue because she didn't want an even bigger scene. In the end, my wife settled the bill with the restaurant but you can bet we will never eat there again. And the waitress, you know who you are, you got it wrong and wouldn't admit to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy husband and I came here with our family while visiting on their recommendation and this place didn't disappoint. We were looking to try southern cooking, fried okra to be exact, and experience some southern hospitality: they delivered big time.
When we entered, a very kind woman showed us to our table and took our order. She understood my dietary restrictions and went above and beyond to accommodate my needs when she really didn't have to. We were very grateful! She treated us like family, as if we'd known her for years, making us feel really comfortable. She is an absolute gem that led with a smile and made everyone in their establishment feel special! Everyone coming and going had huge smiles because she spoke to everyone with great care and kindness!
The food itself was absolutely delicious and hit every spot! I got my fried okra and mac and cheese, and had to keep reminding myself I can get the rest packed because I just wanted to continue stuffing my face with the delicious crispy okra and creamy mac! My family was equally delighted by their meals which included a cheese steak, fried chicken, fries and our pickiest eater was so excited about how great her home style chips were.
Our family has been here a few times and have friends that frequent the place, too! We will also be back when we're visiting again, God Willing!
God Bless you...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place has lost a star from me, I really want to give it 3 stars but I won't take away from the phenomenal server and food. We dined in after my uncle's funeral on October 14, everything was great except when it was time to pay. Younger Caucasian female that I've watched hand everyone else money in their "hand" now it's my turn, I had to wait on her and the next cashier to make change which she wasn't apologetic for the wait, but when it's time to hand me my cash!! Although I'm holding out "my hand" obviously it can be seen, she instead lays it on the counterā¼ļø You're not touching my hand because I gave her the correct change, but like I gave it to her in her hand I expected the same respect, I did state, did you not see my brown hand ??? She's just looking dumbfounded! So my tip is, Place the front cashiers that are respectable to ALL RACES not just their own because if our money is good enough to eat here then show the same damn respect!! I really dislike this kind of behavior. To our Waiter I think from Egypt -Thank You For Always Being So Kind! Not sure if we'll be back but I won't let one sign of immaturity stop me from possibly...
