I'm not one to complain or feel any sort of "entitlement" but I've been to this location just a few times now. when I first when with enough Perka points for a free meal after visiting Pelham RD, I was told they do not do the Perka app & I'd need a punch card. Surely confused, I did not complain. During my next visit to Greer, I gave my punch card to the same cashier & was told they no longer accept it, they now use the Perka App. By then my pervious perka points towards my free meal had expired. Again, I did not complain nor did I receive the Perka ticket. On my third visit to Greer, I was in line during a busy lunch shift & I PHYSICALLY SAW THE SAME CASHIER WRITE ON SOMEONE ELSE CARD, I also witnessed her not giving any of the customers their Perka tickets. When i asked which system they now honored, I was told they were no longer doing the punch card, only the Perka App. Again, I did not complain but I am displeased with their reward point system. Food is great, but I do feel if a restaurant puts a reward system in place for their customers to return & earn discounts/ a free meal IT SHOULD BE HONORED not made impossible to meet the goal. I had my BF go in the same day to order dinner & see what they told him and they didn't want to discuss their reward point system. Idk what management would make of this post or even if they care but if their beliefs are different from their female cashier (who has been there during each visit of mine), they may want to discuss her work ethic with her. So sad I HAD a tropical grille so close after being transferred to work in Greer but I don't think I will be back... which is sad because I love the food. it just makes me appreciated the Pelham location much more for their...
Read moreI went in on Friday to order lunch for my husband, son, and myself. After looking at the menu for a few minutes, I placed my order and went to pay. I had a $100 bill, which they said they couldn't accept. There was a sign laying flat on the counter in front of the register. However, I had already walked in the door (no sign), placed the order (no sign), and got to the register where there was a sign. I know many people don't accept large bills. However, that should be made clear before ordering. Anyway, I didn't have anything else to pay with, so I politely apologized for the inconvenience to them and said I couldn't get the food they had already fixed and started to leave. The girl called me back and said she could take it after all. I understood, since the food would be wasted otherwise.
My problem comes at this point. The girl inspected the bill repeatedly, looking at it, holding it up, scratching it several times, and looking at it some more. At this point, with other people in line, I'm feeling absolutely humiliated, like she's telling everyone I'm giving her a counterfeit bill. I said, just give me the bill back and I'll leave. She looked at it some more and said, no it's okay. She sighed and huffed throughout this whole thing.
My thing is, get a pen that you can quickly swipe over the bill without making an honest customer feel humiliated. I will never go back to this place and will pass on my experience to others. A note on the door would have prevented the whole situation. At least be kind when a customer doesn't know the policy. No need to humiliate someone. It was my first and last time...
Read moreI have been going to this location for some time now. The manager Julie is great. Today when I ordered my lunch to go I got a large bowl with veggies on the side and plantains. Total $21.00. When going to eat my lunch the bowl was still steaming while the vegetables were ice cold. No exaggeration, like they came out of a refrigerator. Naturally, I called to inform the staff that something was wrong and to ask why they served me refrigerated food cold, that should have been served at a safe hot temperature. The staff didn't have a manager so the employee who took my call was Alex, he said. Alex said that he would check the veggies and that was all. No apology, and no answer as to why the food was served ice cold. When I asked for Julie, he said that she didn't work there anymore and that her mother didn't own the restaurant. This confused me, so I asked is that all that you have in response to serving dangerously undercooked food that could get a person sick. His response was that "how does he know that the food was cold, since I already left with the order" . To me this was a slap in the face. Not only was I served dangerously undercooked food, now he was calling me a liar. The only reason I called was to make sure they didn't serve another person dangerous food, and I was being treated like a scammer that was trying to get a freebie. The old management of this location would never have treated a customer like that, and would have rectified the situation. In finishing, if you want rude employees, and dangerously undercooked food, this is the place for you. I have contacted health department and made...
