Ordered breakfast using the drive thru and had no issues. When I sat down to eat my breakfast at work a little while later, I realized there was BLACK MOLD on the inside of the bun they used to make it. No it wasn't char marks and even coworkers agreed it looked like mold. I returned a few hours later with my sandwich in hand and asked for a manager. The worker informed me that there was no manager on duty and asked if she could help. When I explained the situation, the cook immediately came and joined the conversation. The worker explained there was mold on the bread and the cook was dismissive right away stating it was from the grill. The entire time the cook spoke she spoke in Spanish. She then started to be rude, and stating I was just there to start problems seemingly not knowing I also spoke Spanish. As soon as I chimed in with "Yo también hablo Español" you would've thought they'd seen a ghost; the look on their faces was priceless. The cook then proceeded to become defensive and claim she "doesn't serve rotten food and she would eat it no problem." Good for you! At no time was I rude or arguing back with the cook. I wasn't there to fight, I just wanted my money back. The first worker had a second worker process the refund and the second worker said absolutely nothing to me and simply handed me my money. Never did any of the staff offer an apology or seem remorseful during the whole interaction. Needless to say, I will never be back here ever again! I guess it was my fault for even going there in the first place expecting...
Read moreThis particular Carls Jr is hit or miss due to the fact that it's extremely busy and a 24 hour location. I go here often since I live nearby and have been a customer on and off for years since it opened.
The turnover rate is high at this place due to the fact that is services a wide range of people; a lot of them frankly rude and demanding. I'm talking about the customers too, not the staff. The manager there runs a tight ship and fires rude or under-performing staff quite quickly. Thus every time I go there the staff in red (the new ones) are usually always different. If you got bad service, chances are you ran into a new hire that was going to be on their way out anyway soon.
The reason I took 2 stars off the review is the fact that the quality of the food as well as the prices are getting out of hand at Carls Jr in general. Unless you eat with promotional coupons (in which I highly suggest you do), mostly everything is super expensive for the quality you receive. We're talking $9 bucks for a small combo.
In any case, just don't go here during the busy hours and your experience will greatly improve. That is probably true of most fast food chains anyway; especially in South El Monte /...
Read moreIf I could give this place a zero I would. I have been to Carl's Jr in another city and had a horrible experience there as well and swore to never go back. But of course I didn't keep my word on that and would highly regret it later.Walked in ordered and payed like normal was handed a number then I sat down and waited. Well I waited about 15 minutes or more and still there was no sign of my food. So I decided to walk up to the counter and ask about my food. At the counter I saw what seemed to be most of the employees gathered in a circle talking and laughing away. Finally I caught the attention of the cashier who helped me with my order and I asked her about my food and she looks at me and finally tells me that my card has declined (let me remind you I waited about 15 minutes or more for my food originally and she tells me now) and she proceeds to tell me that my food is made though while another employee butts in and tell me the same thing but with attitude. Anyway I just decided not to bother and not to have to deal with the ladies again and waist my time and just left. In short terms I would not ever recommend anyone go here unless they want...
