Tom's Famous Burgers 11 — Restaurant in South Gate

My family and I have been customers of this locations for 12+ years. We’ve ate here countless times and the previous employees all knew us and greeted us every time we dined in because we were regular customers. We’ve moved out of South Gate but when we visit we always picked up something to eat from here. We occasionally got orders mixed up but it would get fixed with no problem until recently. The lady who took out order ANA was the rudest employee I’ve ever encountered at this location. She didn’t explain herself clearly while ordering and got an attitude when we asked her to clarify because we were confused. We placed an order based on her description on a family meal and also ordered a grilled chicken dinner but when we got our order the chicken dinner was fried and the family meal was not what she described. The drive thru employee who handed us our food was very helpful and offered to fix our order. We parked and waited for the food to be corrected. Ana brought the food to our car and told us we had to pay extra for the family meal because what we wanted costed more than what we ordered. While we understood that it costed more we wanted her to admit that she made a mistake when explaining the order to us. Her description of the family meal wasn’t correct and she charged us for something else. We asked how the mix up happened and with the nastiest attitude she said either pay the extra amount or I’ll take the food back. I then went inside to complain about her customer service. This place has been around ever since I can remember.. It has been thru a few trades of ownership and 3 names the frist to my recalletion were Jewish very respected by my family that was through out the late 1980's ...... The best menu item where the zuquinez and best stack and eggs and pancakes it would be packed with Hungary ppl on weekends . Now a days the stack and eggs are still my fav the way they make us still unchanged. But now they are more of a burger joint . try something eles in there menu I highly recommend there morning breakfast. If your in a hurry then don't go thru the drive thru for anything other than the burger n fries cuz you'll be there for a long wait just walk in rather 83rd...

This use to be my family and I’s go to spot for burgers. The food is usually always pretty good. We would still make the drive here, even after moving nearly an hour out. I was disappointed with our last visit. The employees laughed when we asked for the Veggie Burger Combo and said they no longer serve it. It’s one thing to no longer offer an item, but to laugh in our faces? I’m the only vegetarian in my family, probably one of the few in SG.
