Tom's Famous Hamburgers — Restaurant in South Gate

I used to go to this Tom's years ago (80's-90's...) and loved their food and service. Now, today 2021, drive thru is horrible. Never got to order from their speaker drive thru ordering area (20 mins waiting time) that i got out of the drive thru to get down, park and order inside. I then got to order after another 10 mins before order was finally taken and then it took about another 20-25 minutes till i received my order for breakfast. Almost an hour!?!? Forget about this place... its not the same any more. i feel bad for posting this review but feel that i had to do this to see if anyone else has experienced this recently as well. Or was it that they low on staff and today was just a bad day for me to show up when they were low on staff which effects their service. I know about over a year ago the place shut down and was boarded up. Not sure about these new owners... or is it the same owners? Hmmm, not sure but hope this was just today and they get things back up and running smoothly. 2 stars for now from me for...

I went on 3/2/25 for breakfast. Honestly the food was not good other than the French toast. The place feels dirty inside, I know it's an older place, but they can still clean the tables. I went around 11:30am and we were the only ones there other than another family who was there. I'm adding this for reference, I regards to them not being able to keep the tables clean. I ordered the "natural orange juice". Let me tell you there was nothing natural about that juice. It tasted watered down and like orange bang. The large size was $9. I understand things are so expensive right now, so if you need to charge $9 for an orange juice... fine! But I expect to get Natural orange juice and get what I paid for! The food is good sometimes depending who is working on the day of ordering. I don't like the fact that they always have to stick theirs heads out the drive through window to see who is ordering. Which gives u an impressing that they are going to charge u more or give bad food not to mention they over charge you on fees for using a credit card then they over charge u on extra dressing they have bad attitudes also they don't get ur order right I guess they don't understand u through the drive-through speaker. The last time I was their one of the cashier look out the n said ah this motherf** again i think this is very un appropriate for customers. Prices seem to change every time depending on who's working that day. I rather go to bobos on imperial...
