Tacos jalisco #1 — Restaurant in South Gate

My favorite meat from there is the carne asada. Only place I get get carne asada tacos, burritos, etc. Their other choices of meat that they offer are okay. Small restaurant for small groups of people. I give it a 4 cause of their carne asada lol

2025 update from my original 2017 review

Under new ownership. Owner has been a restaurateur for over 20 years and recently took over the business back in March. Guy is very cool and chill.

I remember the old owners and the older gentleman that owned the business. When the older gentleman passed away, the food wasnt the same.

Fast forward to 2025, this new owner knows what he's doing and the carne asada seasoning has exceeded of the previous owners. Not saying the previous owner wasnt good, but this has exceeded my expectations. Menu has remained the same. But the portions are really good. If you've been a person who has been loyal, give these new owners a try. Won't be disappointed. I was not...

I used to go there with my dad a lot when I used to live in South Gate, my dad was good friends with Lupillo who was the owner back then, I'm not sure of he still owns it. The only thing I would ever order there was always a Torta. In my opinion this place has the very best Tortas in the world, I always got Carne Asada or Jamon y Quesco. Next time I'm in the neighborhood I'm going to stop by and pick up like 4...

Went to eat there with my family. But the food is not that good and ask for cabeza tacos and the cabeza was super oily and old too, and the prices are super expensive . Everyone looks so serious the lady and the girl working there please smile greet people and appreciate we buy from you guys. When the food is ready it looks like if they throw it at you.
