I wish I could’ve given this a zero star. In all my life I’ve never had such a bad restaurant experience. From the customer service to the raw meat we were served. Off the bat the waitress (she says she’s a manger but that’s hard to believe) with the whiney voice was so dry and rude. She was throwing one of the other servers under the bus to us for not getting some fries out quick which was so unprofessional, incredibly immature and just unnecessary. Any time we had an issue she got confrontational and acted like a 13 year old brat. My family and I have been in the food industry all our lives. I never thought I’d have a pull a Karen and ask for two managers. We’re very appreciative for food workers and usually we bite our tongues if there are small issues but this experience was just different. After being served raw steak, coleslaw my grandfather spit out, and flat soda we were just ready to get out there. We let the waitress know it was rare and she was so rude about it. “It’s your responsibility to let us know these things earlier” it’s the restaurants responsibility to not serve raw steak. The waitress then brought over the bill and said the steak would be half off….. that’s when I had to ask for another manger. The second manger was extremely professional and although I believe more should’ve been taken off the bill for the terrible experience he took off the steak and apologized to us. I’m not sure who this waitress is but I’m sorry to anyone in the future who has her. She’d be fired in my restaurant day one. She’s a grown women. I would be embarrassed if I was her. She ruined my sisters graduation dinner but hey it was memorable for sure. Would’ve been a nice tip too. We’re generous. It sucks because two people at my table were saying how great this place was the last time they went here but this was just terrible. I’d love to get in contact with the owner of this restaurant because this was truly the worst restaurant experience I’ve had. I’m a local in this community and I’ll be sure to tell all my friends, family and clients to stay away from this place or at least stay away from that server. If you can’t handle customer service find a job that you don’t have to communicate with people. It’s part of the job. I’m sorry to the good people who work at this restaurant for having to work with her and have to listen to that whiney voice …..very...

The Yarde Tarvern has come into SH to a special location of what used to be Woodbridges. They kept the important "homey" feel with all the natural wooden beams and flooring all over the building.
They have many servers at any given time so the responsiveness is great. I have not had any issues when wanting to get in and out quickly.
The menu is not enormous, but has something for everyone. From sandwiches, to pasta, to steak tips, there is something for you. The food is always hot and comes out in a normal time. (My favorite is the Pulled Pork Sandwich.)
Big bar with lots of options if you of age and into that kind of thing. They also have a great outdoor patio!
The one thing the YT and frankly most local restaurants could do better with is the dessert options. Most local restaurants have the normal choc mousse cake, apple pie and ice cream, etc. Now the YT doesn't list any desserts on their website, they do have a few however I cannot recall what they are. Restaurants should have some options besides the norm. If that's all that is on the list people will not order it as much. Even if they were to make something only they would serve. something special, I think it would go a long way. Also putting it on the website would be great because sometimes people just want to go out for dessert!
The catering is also great. I have been to a few different events here and the food was great.
All in all, the YT is a great local restaurant, with good management, good service, great food, and a great atmosphere. I would recommend it to anyone who lives near by or...
Read moreWent on Sunday at about 6 p.m. Not very busy, had live music playing, we sat on the other side away from it. We (me and my wife) wanted burgers. We ordered Buffalo Cauliflower (very good), a Tavern Burger (basically a cheeseburger with any fixings you like - very tasty), and a Pizza Pierogi Burger (GOD-AWFUL!). This P.P.B. had a burger smothered in onions and peppers and cheese with 2 pepperoni and cheese pierogi as the bun. The pierogi were oily and diificlut to pick up so I used a knife and fork. The worst thing about it was the pepperoni wasn't peeled so the stringy skin was on each piece of pepperoni. At first I didn't realize it but it looked like someone started to peel it but then said f-ck it and sent it out anyway because there was a pile of the skins in the sandwich after I took a bite. After chewing for awhile I was pulling the thin strands of pepperoni skin out of my mouth. Then I took a look at the pepperoni still in the pierogi and started peeling them myself. I don't know if this is the norm but this sandwich has really turned me off to this place. It's unfortunate that this happened on my first visit there but I believe that restaurants show you who they are with every plate that comes out of that kitchen so if this is who you are it may be a while before I come back, which is unfotunate because the service and the drinks and everything else was really good but the meal I ordered was not. Someone should reconsider the P.P.B. and get rid of it. You make a good burger and the pierogi are...
