This time it was Ray with the doctor appointment. Afterwards we went searching for a meal.
I had been to The Roadhouse many years ago when it was a standalone place on Meridian. The food was very good so I decided to take a chance and see if this new location measured up to what I remembered from the past.
We were greeted as soon as we walked through the door. There was plenty of room so we picked a table and sat down. The bartender brought menus and was attentive to when we were ready to order.
I had the patty melt with Tater tots. Ray had the Barbecue Burger with Fries.
Our food came up in short order and did not disappoint. Everything was hot and the meat on both of our sandwiches was very good sized. I haven’t had a patty melt with that thick of a burger ever, as I recall. We were both impressed with our meals and we each took home half.
I gave the atmosphere a 4 because the music was so loud we could barely have a conversation. I understand it is a sport’s bar now, and the noise levels are what they are. This was just a little louder than what I consider normal.
The service was good and the food was excellent. We will definitely go back when we are that way again and...
Read moreI tried out their new location, clean, friendly staff, good service. I had the Friday Fish and Chips, it was served with fries, coleslaw, and clam chowder more than reasonably priced. Everything looked great and tasted good and told the bar staff how great the chowder was. Two hours later I was very ill, nausea, GI discomfort (toilet trips) and a severe headache. This is the first time I had what I believe was food poisoning in decades. What was a 5 star had to be deducted to 3 sadly. Other than the food borne illness everything was great. I suspect it was the chowder.
Follow up, went in for some beer and pretzel on a Thursday afternoon, bar wasn't busy, was served quickly initially, finished a beer, received my pretzels, finished my pretzels and sat patiently for 10 minutes right across from the bartenders (2 of them) who were more interested in talking to their off duty bartender/friend, never asked if I wanted anything else. I just asked for a check after a bit.
I don't think I'll be back...
Read moreWATCH OUT FOR FRAUD!!! We went there last Saturday and experienced the worst customer service from the female bartender. She was rude, snotty, and acted as if we were an inconvenience to her. That's not even the worst part! Because of her horrible service, we gave her a very small, but justifiable tip. After checking my credit card statement this week, I found a much larger charge on my credit card! This shady criminal gave herself a bigger tip and then disposed of the credit card receipt so management couldn't find it! At least that's what Julia, the manager, told me when I called about it. Julia also mentioned that this wasn't that big of a deal for her because it's only $7 and she hung up on me! Apparently fraud isn't a big deal to these people so watch out!! It looks like the horrible service starts from the top down. No surprise. We've had nothing but bad experiences in Puyallup since we moved here and we couldn't be more ecstatic about getting the hell...
