Thai Mekong — Restaurant in Washington

Well if you know what thai food is supposed look like and taste like you will be disappointed ... This is one of the worst experiences I have had... We got the tom yum shrimp soup... In the soup there was no lemon grass no galangal root no tamarind and no lime juice... It basically tasted like a 25cent beef ramen noodle that was made with to much water.... My family doesn't like it very hot so they ordered thier food a 2.. but I do so I got the beef salad and I ordered it a 5 ... It was was the worst one Ive ever had it was missing so many ingredients and it was tasteless. It was like going to the cheese cake factory and ordering a Thai beef salad but it ended up tasting better than mekongs beef salad. . It didn't even have the basic ingredient.. ground toasted rice powder...even though I ordered it a 5 my family was able to eat it... I should have known it wasn't going to be hot because the only thing they use to make something spicy is the dried peppers that they use at a pizza parlor . The reason I know this is because I asked what they use and the waiter brought it out to show me.We ordered chefs special... the crispy fried pork. The sauce was good but the pork wasn't crispy the texture was just chewy like they fried it in under temperature oil for to long.. it was more like jerky...The egg rolls I'll give a 5 ⭐ and the pad Thai I'll give it a 3 ⭐... The service was very good and the servers were very friendly and made sure we had what we needed.. but the thing they were unable to do was give was good Thai food... But I'll I'll give 0 ⭐'s for everything else .. I had to put 1 ⭐ to be able to...

Amazing Thai food and fantastic service! I have never been disappointed when I have come to eat here. They are very prompt to seat you with a glass of water with the best crushed ice! The owner and staff are very friendly and quick to serve. My favorite appetizers are the avocado fritters- crispy and DELICIOUS paired with the sweet chili sauce. The entrees are also very full of flavor. I would say the spice levels are on the mild side (I love spicy!) so order a higher spice level or ask for a side of Thai chili oil if you’re looking for a kick. They’re version of pad Thai is so full of flavor, I always order it at 4 star spicy with chicken. Best pad Thai in the area! I also love the pad see ew with beef. We ordered: -BBQ SHORT RIBS -BBQ CHICKEN -CHICKEN GARLIC NOODLE (Chefs favorite) -Chicken Pad Thai (5 star spicy)

Very delicious and good amount of portion you get. My kids loved the bbq. & the garlic noodle was something different I wanted to try and the parmasean that was on top was bomb!!! I finished the whole plate. Also my husband ate all his pad thai! Although he did say 5 stars was not that spicy Excellent.

Everytime we drove by it looked like it was always close because the door is black and so is the windows. And we never see any cars. It was just my family in the restaurant but there was lots of pickup orders we saw come in. So other than just maybe redoing the outside lol otherwise 10/10...
