This place has always been a tradition of our summer family vacation during our bike ride (since my brother and I were 5 and 7). The ice cream portions (my own opinion) are very generous for what you pay.
Every year that goes by, I feel like the customer service has declined- especially this summer. It is extremely disappointing and sad. These teenagers that work here act like they hate their job. I understand it gets busy during the summer time, it’s hot outside, you would much rather be with your friends during summer break, it’s a Tuesday afternoon but geez. You work at a freaken ice cream parlor that is extremely popular in camp Richardson. Be happy or act happy. These teens need to be taught on basic customer service. Rolling of the eyes, the attitude, the sighing… it’s pretty freaken old & needs to stop.
My husband is an active military service man. I understand not many places offer military discount (which my opinion should be a thing at every place of business) but it’s the fact that my husband asked the female cashier if they did and she was very rude about it and said “um no” with an attitude. We have been to many places where they don’t accept military discount but the cashiers will say something along the lines “No, I am so sorry but thank you for your service”. Is it that hard to appreciate our military service men/vets? No disrespect but no one would have a job if it weren’t for the men that put their life on the line for us.

Trying to figure out my life I sat at the picnic tables next to the parlor (talking with my southern mother on the phone). Ed, The Bear, looked right through my NorthFace jacket, Coca-Cola t-shirt and red crocs to continue on with his out-look scheduled trash meeting. Mortified, I did what every National Geographic show says, but first got off the phone with my mom in TEXAS. I went around the back in between the parking lot by the kitchen door, and slipped into the front. The crew was extremely professional after I was able show The BIG BEAR still there. I pressed my face on the patio window to see Ed looking at me looking at him looking at me...as if to say, " you again?" It was terrifying, but everyone was ok as if business as usual. I explained my situation, and everything became more BEARABLE. They also gave me ice-cream as they finished closing, and walked me to the hotel. Thank you for handling The Bear and I so well. I was...
