While I really wanted to love Atelier it was unfortunately a miss for me. I’ve had this spot on my mind for a while and finally tried it out. I went in and was greeted by the staff which were absolute amazing. The service is impecable and I can’t complain but it’s the food that just didn’t meet my expectations.
I order a dozen of the macarons, a bar-rocher noisette and a coffee. The Bar-Rocher was spectacular and so delicious. It was fresh, creamy and with a bunch of hazelnuts. It’s this that actually has me leaving 2 stars instead of one.
As for the macarons, which is what drove me there, they were a major flop. They were frankly an abomination. Some were broken, an indication of a bad or old macaron. Mostly the pistachio ones were like that. Others completely flavorless like the raspberry one. The employee said the guava macarons were freshly baked but honestly they were as terrible, it tasted like fridge and the inside was incredibly chewy. As a matter of fact they were all chewy on the inside and super flaky on the outside. It’s odd I’ve never had macarons like that before. I don’t believe for a second they make that in-house it would make more sense if they bought them in bulk from somewhere else. The coffee was also not the best, the beans were burned so after a few sips it went down the drain.
I was very sad by the experience because this place has great reviews and it was not cheap. Maybe it was my selection that just didn’t work out, who knows. Regardless, macarons are traditionally luxury desserts with a hefty price point, so I expected something else. If one can’t commit to the quality of their products then they shouldn’t be...
Read moreI live in a different county but I was in my old neighborhood visiting friends when I came across this gem. They have numerous varieties or croissants and pastries that it was too difficult to choose one so took home a large box. I bought the savory eggplant croissant with an herbed topping which was divine, chocolate Croissants which were yummy, apricot pastry & blueberry pastry, but my absolute favorite was the almond croissant.. OMG.. YUMGASM!! Yes, it’s so good I had to make up a word to describe it. I can’t wait to take a trip back to Miami again. The owner of the shop is so sweet and friendly. She’s the kind of person who makes you want to sit down and have a cup of coffee with. My experience was more like going to a friend’s house than a new bakery. I highly recommend this bakery to anyone who is looking for some yummy French baked goods. Next time I’ll bring home some of the other pastries or a cake. There was just too much to choose. Sorry there are no photos because my family inhaled...
Read moreIt’s a nice place, could be spruced up a bit. The ham and cheese croissant was good but could have been warmed up a bit. I should have asked. I tried a small red cake,‘Charlotte Rouge’?? I think with pistachio filing that was really good. Only two tables to sit at but thankfully it wasn’t crowded. With a little polish this place...
