On or about Thursday March 14th I went to this Flannigans, my neighborhood bar. Just as I do in the evening after I get work done, I may go and have some food, few drinks and talk to my neighborhood friends. I had been going there for about 3 months. I am kind of new in the area.
On that night I sat at the bar and there two young ladies that seemed nice they were laughing a lot and we made eye contact and they smiled so I offered to buy them a drink.
The bartender Charles came over and I asked for drinks of whatever they were having. It was something with vodka. He comes back and gleefully asks THEM if they want to be upgraded to Kettle One…. I was shocked that he would upgrade on their drink without asking me. I was obviously disturbed and I went around back to see him and I said “How could you upgrade them without asking me??” He smiled a really big grin and said nothing. Obviously he wanted me to react. I didn’t because my instincts told me and I paid the bill and left.
The next day on Friday I return, Charles was there again and he nodded at me to serve me but i asked for someone else to serve me. I got my drink, then a second drink. Had nice conversation with the guy next me, a guy from El Salvador who’d been special forces over in his country. Pretty nice guy. Then I get up to put on music. When I come back there two people at my seat, WHICH I HAD LEFT LEANING, plus my tab ticket was on the cup when I left. It must have taken me 2 minutes tops to go and come back. When I see the guys pulling out the chair to sit. I tell them “Hey that’s my seat” they looked at me confused and they looked at Charles who was right there and back at me, and Charles had that grin in his face looking at me. I said to him “Hey man, i just got up a minute ago and i was sitting there” He immediately headed to the kitchen yelling “We have someone being belligerent” and the manager came out and told me to leave. The cop on duty was called to escort me out.
This individual Charles had a vendetta against me unbeknownst to me until the Kettle One upgrade incident.
There was never a complaint against me by any patrons or staff. Later on I was told by the manager on duty whom I had requested to meet with and did so the following week… that there were a few of his staff that did not like my demeanor or something like that. I NEVER picked up any bad vibes from staff from interacting with them. Seems to me CHARLES may have influenced them to back him up as he is a pretty big shot. I was always courteous, often complimenting their service, ALWAYS tipping around 20%.
It has caused me pretty big harm by forcing me to abandon the relationships I had there and seek out another place...
Read moreOn 6/23 my family and I decided to have dinner At flannigans on Kendall. The worse mistake we could have possibly made. We ordered a pitcher of beer which brought 10 wings the wings came 30 minutes later after asking several times and various waiters when they were coming. We ordered nachos and one of the servers dropped it on me. We specifically asked if they could wait for us to finish our salad, garlic bread and nachos before our main entrees came out. Sure enough, all the food came out together none of us were able to enjoy our salads because the servers took them because there was no space to put the plates on the table. After, requesting to speak with the manager several times he did not come to our table. 40 minutes passed and he came outside with a tablet stood in the middle where I table was viable and walked inside again to never return. As a manager you have to willing to help and take action of every single situation. Sergio, the manager did not! He hid from the problem he did not want to face it. My family and I kept asking several waiters to call the manager he never came. I finally decided to stand up and speak to the receptionist the girls were the only ones who helped! The called him through the communication system and he came to the counter. At the counter, I approached him very respectfully and told him everything. He looked me in the eyes slammed the receipt on the counter and crushed it. This is very disrespectful someone like this should not be a manger. A manager should be polite understanding and respectful, he is the opposite. He should not be running an establishment of this sort. This is not first the time we have had a problem with him, he is rude, disrespectful and does not know how to...
Read moreThe most horrible experience! On December 27, my family and I decided to eat at Flanigan’s, but it turned out to be a complete disaster. Our waiter was absolutely terrible, and this story feels like it needs popcorn.
To set the scene: The restaurant was not full. My parents and little brothers were seated at one table, completely separate from my fiancé, our friends, and me. The issues started right away. My mom ordered for my little brothers and then for herself—a full rack of ribs. The waiter started walking away without taking my dad’s order, and my dad had to call him back, saying, “You’re not going to take my order?” Instead of apologizing, the waiter rudely replied, “You guys aren’t sharing the full rack of ribs? That’s a lot for her.” That was completely disrespectful and out of line.
Things only got worse. It took the waiter 30 minutes to come back and ask the rest of us what we wanted. Once we finally placed our orders, the food took forever to arrive. Meanwhile, everyone at the table asked for refills on their drinks, but none of us ever got them.
When the food finally started coming out, it was chaotic. My fiancé got his meal first, but the rest of us didn’t get ours until much later. Out of the 8 people at our table, 3 of us got our food 20 minutes after my fiancé. The remaining 4 people? They didn’t get their meals until 30 minutes after the first group had already finished eating. It was incredibly frustrating because no one could eat together as a group.
To make matters worse, the food tasted awful. Overall, this was one of the most unprofessional and disappointing dining experiences I’ve ever had. We won’t be...
