I honestly don't know where to start! Our company is Skyline Catering and through the 30 years of our business, we have always catered our own end of the year parties for our entire staff up to 100 people. As we have grown, the task of trying to have a staff get together and doing all of the work it takes to feed us for the EOY party grew daunting for us to prep, cook, set, maintain and clean up. Frankly, we just wanted to socialize, exchange gifts, eat, drink and have fun! For the first year, we decided to have an outside caterer take the stress off of us. Enter Azteca restaurant and catering with owners, Nahum and Rosie. They are a local establishment that we have always known as a great restaurant with great service and excellent authentic food. While we were aware of their catering and heard great things, we had never experienced the catering side for ourselves. It was amazing! From our first contact with Rosie to order everything to their efficient and on time set-up of our event which was very attractive to the hands on service and clean up, we were completely impressed. As much as we all are picky with the way we want to treat our clients, our staff was completely buzzing with happiness and compliments on Azteca's quality and professionalism! There was not a single thing on the menu (Ceviche, Guacamole, Chips, Street Corn, Chimichangas, Pork, Beef & Chicken Street Tacos, Tamales, Rice, Beans, Salsas, Camarones) that wasn't fresh, warm & delicious! Nahum and Rosie were even warming the corn tortillas on a flat grill right in front of us!! Special mention goes out to their assistant (Danna) who was very helpful with everything from the Buffet and customer assistance to the clean up. In closing, I want to say a huge THANK YOU to Nahum, Rosie, Danna and their chefs for making our party a huge success and allowing us as owners to mingle instead of cater for one day!! Ernie, Kathy & Elyse Wunsch (Plus the entire Skyline and...
Read moreThis is one of the gems in South Milwaukee. I started going there when they first opened and have been hooked ever since. I have never had a meal that I didnt like and the food is authentic.
When you look at the pictures on the menu, that is exactly what the plate will look like. Their bean dip is awesome. The guacamole is good but I make my own so I am partial to that. But it is still good
We carry out a lot but when we eat in, the staff is as professional as they look. They have impeccable manners and don't rush you with your food so if you order an appetizer, you won't be bombarded with all of your meal at once.
They make their horchata from scratch so I'm told. If you don't know what that is, it is a drink made from milk soaked in rice with vanilla and cinnamon. I always order a large glass with no ice because that is the one drink they do not offer refills on.
The same goes for a pitcher of horchata when we dine in, we ask for the ice to go in our glasses so that we can get a full pitcher of only horchata. But know that if you order close to closing time, because it is made once a day, they might be out.
You really can't go wrong here and if you want something but are afraid to try something new, chicken enchiladas with red sauce are the best.
The kid's menu is pretty good too. One of the things we all love is their French fries. Idk if they cost them or double fry them, but they are amazing.
Take the family or go on date night. Either way, you will have good food and the kids will all find something...
Read moreMy friend and I took our wives here for their birthday, the food was excellent the service was beyond anything I have experience at any restaurant whether it be a hole in the wall or a tablecloth with salad fork establishment extremely outgoing and friendly the owner came to our table two to three times, which to me shows class and that he's interested in what people think about his food and what he can do to make it better. There were drinks they didn't know but had no problem looking them up and used top-shelf ingredients, phenomenal service, the plates were full with delicious food my wife loved the rice, and chicken chimichangas, I had a combo plate with a side of mole sauce which was excellent It's hard to make good mole if you don't know your mole you don't know nothing, the drinks were amazing and the prices are extremely exceptional. They even brought our wives Mexican ice cream and sang happy birthday! It was clean and well lit, and from the outside it smelled just like the Fresh Tortillas being made at El Rey like when I was a kid living in Chicago, the Spanish music playing in the background wasn't so loud that it was annoying very pleasant. I would tell anyone who's looking for a real Mexican food experience to try Azteca 1st you may not want to try anything else.
