BBTEA — Restaurant in South Plainfield

First off, i’d like if the owner would update their menus on google or any online delivery services or where it displays their establishment & menus. Came here looking forward to some boba. Atmosphere was okay, bright, lit, natural lighting, nice little shop, feels a bit dingoes cause of the old decor that was removed. Some of the cool decor was removed for some reason even though the old screenshots displaying the place looked fantastic. Food was okay, ordered their shrimp & pork dumplings, friend mac & cheese wedges, little egg rolls, all bite size, flavors were okay, pricey personally. Sadly they don’t have some of the original things listed anymore, would’ve been cool to snag a banh mi (Vietnamese sandwich). Drinks were also all right, online menu seemed to have a lot of options but in shop, it was limited. Didn’t have my simple yet favorite coffee milk tea so I didn’t opt for tapioca pearls, tried some of their unique ones with lychee jelly & it was all right, 6.5/7 out of 10 for most of their food & drinks. Service is was fine, nothing crazy, ordered via kiosk machine...

Went there for the first time yesterday and I was a little disappointed. The girl at the counter was very friendly, and the tea was delicious. But all around it felt like the management and staff just doesn't care. I ordered chicken strips and a waffle. The waffle came out with no syrup, I stood a the counter for 5 minutes trying to get assistance while the guy in the back stood there over the kitchen equipment eating his food - gross. He looked right at me and never acknowledged me. Then my chicken strips were raw in the middle. When I told the staff they just talked about it amongst themselves and said "OK well just make them a new one" but they never apologized or said anything to me about it. So, we got upset and left since we didn't trust the second chicken to not come out raw. We didn't get a refund, or any acknowledgement. I would like to give them another chance because the tea was so good, but the kitchen practices and attitude of the staff just...

We frequented this place often, from the time it opened until today—but no more. Each time we went, we hoped for a better experience, but it never did get better. They charge much higher prices than other bubble tea places in the vicinity compared to the actual quality of the drink. In fact, at one point they had a different price listed on the menu that was lower than what they charged me! (Yes, pre-tax and without additional toppings) They hiked up the prices without properly advertising to their customers.

I have had the plastic cup split and spill upon leaving the store. Awful flavors where multiple people who tried with me agreed. Wrong orders being given to me. Never any attempt from the staff to be helpful, they just point at their “no exchanges, returns, or refunds” sign.
