Employee testimony and personal experience |MUST READ|
During a time like the pandemic, one would hope employees practiced proper food safety correct? .. WRONG Not a single employee at this establishment wears gloves, they constantly touch and prepare YOUR FOOD with their BARE HANDS. I would be lying if I said this is where my experience saw it’s ending. I worked at this establishment for roughly 2 weeks and today I am relieved to announce that I quit! Let me explain why & how.
From my first day, I was talked to like a dog and not treated with the respect that I provide co-workers and human beings in general. I was asked my religion, and then was bastardized about believing in Christianity by the men named JUSTIN & JOHN. I took that one on the chin out of desperation for a job, and returned to work the next day. Over time, I experienced an overwhelming amount of negative experiences. Such as ; whispering about me, being inappropriately touched on the waist by a woman at this establishment that goes by the name T, and being HEAVILY criticized for my beliefs and demand for a safe and clean work environment. Additionally, being made fun of for my teeth. The worst part is there is a woman there who BUSTS HER BEHIND named Denise. She is a HARD WORKER and doesn’t deserve being made fun of for her disabilities behind her back.
When I quit today, I brought all of this information directly to the owners Deb and Charlie. I told them I would be leaving this review, and would EMPHASIZE that the owners are good people with bad employees who have gotten away with too much for far too long. Upon expressing my issues and concern, I was met with immediate hostility and called a “troublemaker” by the woman Deborah who is Charlie’s wife and also the owner. She was swift to defend her employees, and if only she applied the same loyalty to practicing food safety they would have avoided this review. Charlie is a good man with a fair amount of respect for business and never disrespected me in any way. I only hope that he realizes that the employees he has grown close with unequivocally have hindered his growth as a company. Wish you the...
Read moreWorst sandwich ever! I ordered a French Dip sandwich. The cost of the sandwich, on the board overhead, says $7.99 with side salad and pickle. I watched them make it. First they sliced the meat from the very end of the roastbeef and put it in the microwave for 60 seconds. I also noticed that he didn't toast the bread. I asked, "isn't the bread supposed to be toasted?" The guy making the sandwich says, "it is" I looked at him and before I could respond another server quietly said to him, "you didn't toast the bread. You need to remake it" So they took the roast beef off the bread, grabbed another roll put the same meat on the new roll and handed it to the guy behind the window who works the grill and apparently put it under some heating lamp for 20 seconds and handed it back. It was then quickly sliced and wrapped up. Then another person rings me up and says, "14.00". I looked at her and said, "What? The sandwich is $7.99 and the onion rings are $2.50" She then tells me that roastbeef is an additional $3.00" What? Where does it say that! Oh, it doesn't say that ANYWHERE! She then shows me a little scrap of paper taped to the register, facing them only, that says add $3.00 for roastbeef. I said to her, "how am I supposed to see that?" She just shruggs and sticks out her hand for my credit card. I pay and leave as I don't have time to argue. I wish I had just walked out and gone somewhere else. The meat was dry and flavorless as was the "Aus Jus" they served with it. Such a huge disappointment. Too bad really as I've had other food there and its been good but this was horrendous. The $3.00 charge for roastbeef! I won't order that again. This is new deli that I found near my office and other people in my office have started to order from there as well on my recommendation. I didn't tell them about my sandwich today as I was embarrassed as I've been recommending this place to them. I'll try them again, 1 more try but no...
Read moreJust ordered a “burger”and I’m not happy. If you are looking for a real Burger, this is not your place. They advertise their burgers as NOT fast food burger. Burger King advertises all beef patty, And that’s what I got from this place, a beef patty. Which I’m assuming was ALL beef. They called it a California burger but it was more like a French burger with all the Mayo they use. California burgers have avocado in it. They use a brioche bun which they do not toast and all brioche buns should be toasted. Second the fries…. Oh the fries. Not cooked all the way. It seems like they blanch their fries and keep them on the side till needed. Brown color doesn’t mean they are cooked properly. I was excited about this burger because lunch is important to me and my day was ruined by there take on a California Burgers. I can tell you all their food is frozen and then cooked. That my is fast food whether they know it or not. Only good thing about this place was the young women taking my order… she was nice...
