This restaurant is truly a hidden gem. I visited a couple of weeks ago with my parents while I was recovering from an illness and craving something comforting.. and Thai food came to mind. I had read that Tom Kha soup is gentle on the stomach, so I gave it a try. It arrived quickly and was exactly what I needed; warm, soothing, and full of flavor.
We also ordered the Panang Curry, a shrimp dish, and another item that wasn't on the menu. My dad had spotted a photo of it and asked the waitress if they could make it. She said yes without hesitation, which was such a kind gesture.
As we waited for the food, I started to feel a little weak again, but the moment I took a bite of the Panang Curry, it was like life rushed back into me. It was so delicious and comforting that I actually teared up; it truly felt like food for the soul.
Every dish was served quickly, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. To top it all off, the owner and chef came out after our meal to personally greet us. Knowing this is a family-owned and operated restaurant makes the experience even more special. We genuinely wish her continued success and can't wait to return and try more of their...
Read moreIn the mood for Thai and didn't feel like driving the usual 15 minutes to find a decent place from where I live. Wasn't aware that RiverThai had closed, saw the 4.9stars and decided to give it a try. Glad I did. As opposed to RiverThai, this place is completely redone, bright, inviting and a really nice atmosphere. Ordered the Pad Kee Mao and was absolutely thrilled with their version of the dish. Special attention paid to the spice level (one their 1-2-3 scale I asked for just between 1.5-2 and they nailed it), the doneness of the noodles (perfectly elastic and al dente) and the oil level (not too oily at all). All in all, great first visit and definitely will be coming back.
My only complaint is why doesn't any Thai restaurants in CNJ have Summer Rolls on the menu??? ...

The food, atmosphere, and service are outstanding—some of the best I've encountered in a long time. I genuinely wish the new owner continued success. When my food arrived, I was warmly greeted by the owner herself, who introduced herself and ensured everything was perfect. It's impressive that she not only owns the restaurant but also prepared our meal that night, which was absolutely delicious. I appreciate the personal touch and the elegance of this small restaurant. Despite South River being a challenging location for quality dining, I wholeheartedly recommend this place. The food is truly...
