CHANGING my 4 star review to 1 I’m on a keto diet as well as being Celiac. I asked for the Caprese sandwich without the bread. It’s just Caprese. The girl at the counter had the WORST attitude about my request. She said “Probably not.” …. I said “Why? Is it a frozen sandwich?” She said “No,” so I asked why not. She said “We don’t make salads.” HUH?! I said it’s just Caprese. She said “I can’t guarantee it’ll taste good.” ….. At that point her several excuses for not making a simple modification was just playing dumb. I walked out and I’ll never return. She was so incredibly unhelpful. Hire someone who wants to work.
Original Review: I asked for a recommendation and was not disappointed with my drink. My only anecdote is that the music inside was very loud so if you want to work, you would probably want to sit outside, which some patrons were. I was also a little bit concerned about the fly situation inside, and the pastries are relatively uncovered. Luckily, I wasn’t there...
Read moreMy recent visit to Spruce Cafe left me with a sense of mediocrity. While there were a few positive aspects, overall, the experience failed to leave a lasting impression.
The cafe's ambiance is pleasant, with a cozy interior and a laid-back atmosphere. It's the kind of place where you might enjoy a quiet coffee or catch up with a friend. However, the charm of the setting was overshadowed by some shortcomings in other aspects.
The menu at Spruce Cafe offers a standard selection of cafe fare, from pastries to a variety of coffee options. I opted for a cup of coffee and unfortunately, it was underwhelming.
Service was where Spruce Cafe fell short. The staff seemed disinterested, and it took longer than expected for our orders to arrive. Additionally, there was a lack of attentiveness, as our empty plates sat on the table for an extended period before...
Read moreI ordered an Americano at Spruce Caffè & Patisserie, but what I got was just a regular black coffee — and not even hot, just lukewarm pre-prepared coffee. When I asked them to make me a proper Americano (which is simply espresso with hot water), they refused unless I paid again.
This makes no sense. Either they don’t know how to make a real Americano, their machine wasn’t working, or there was a miscommunication in their staff. But as a customer, it should be corrected without being charged twice.
It’s not difficult to remake an Americano properly, yet they chose not to. That’s just poor service. When you order an Americano, you expect an Americano — not pre-brewed warm coffee passed off as one.
Really disappointing experience. Worst customer service I’ve had in a...
