Mallis La Casa Del Taco — Restaurant in South Sioux City

We were traveling through and found this gem in South Sioux City. I was suspicious of the 5 star ratings, thinking maybe “friends and family” raters. I shouldn’t have been. Food was EXCELLENT authentic Mexican, served in colorful Mexican dishes. The Taco bowl was flavorful, plentiful, as was the Nachos, Burrito, Quesadillas, and an interesting Mexican soup. Margaritas were made with fresh squeezed lime - wow! Homemade chips were accompanied by three sauce types - all homemade and very tasty!

The owner came to our table to make sure we were satisfied- very nice touch and very authentic.

If I lived nearby I would eat here at least once per week - not kidding. This was the BEST Mexican food I have had ever - and I’ve been to Mexico and the southwest US many times.

Authentic, flavored perfectly, served by attentive staff. If I. Old give more than 5 stars I would.

If you live near here - GET HERE and try this out. If you are traveling on I 29, it’s an easy on and off and well worth it.

Each time I come to this restaurant it continues to get better and better...

My first time here it felt new and since then they have made further improvements including an expanded menu. Their whole fish was excellent and it was the first dish I ordered on my initial visit. Tonight, I enjoyed the fish tacos and the fish was crispy on the outside, succulent on the inside, and the entire Taco was perfect. Also their meals and drinks are served on beautiful Mexican plates and glassware.

I also walked in late near closing and they did not hesitate to treat me as a very welcome guest. I literally ordered one minute before the kitchen closed and they took the extra step to fry tortillas, bring me the entire salsa collection, and made a point to treat me like the first customer of the night! The BEST authentic Mexican restaurant with the sweetest owners and best customer service! Have eaten there, ordered take out and from their food truck the had before they opened the restaurant, and have always had the best, freshest, from scratch made food! The restaurant is so clean and the atmosphere and decor is phenomenal! The tacos bowls have always been my go to, and tried it with the mushrooms as my protein pick this time and it was so flavorful and so delicious! Their home made tortillas are hands down the best!! I also tried their flan and it too was out of this world perfection!
