Great quality ice cream. Closed in winter. In warm weather, we get a cone every other week here. The woman who works at the counter most of the time is very nice. What really sealed it for me was a visit last fall when, knowing they would close for winter, I ordered a quart of my favorite flavor. She was getting toward the bottom of the tub and stopped scooping and told me it was getting icy and she was going to pull another tub from downstairs. She returned saying that was the end and apologized. I decided to top off my quart with another flavor. I was very pleased that she was not willing to sell me lester quality, even though she would risk me being disappointed. I was not-she has a customer for life. Rich's Farm is down the road a bit and they also have good ice cream with plenty of novelty flavors, but they close all the time, and close earlier in the season, reopen later. Twister is right in the heart of town and always reliable. And even though they are closed in winter, they have opened up a counter at the movie theater in town, so we can still...
Read moreI used to live in Danbury, what seems like ages ago now. I went to school at WestCon, and this was the highlight of my walk home on Fridays. This was before they moved buildings when it was still just a little hole in the wall kind of place, only two locations still. The icecream is divine. Every flavor I tried (which was A LOT of them) were perfect and fresh. Great texture, super premium quality and flavor. My favorites are the tropical flavors, which are hard to find now I've moved too far away to visit. The passionfruit and guava are amazing, mango is amazing (and I don't even like mangoes), and the black raspberry truffle was to die for. My brother still lives fairly close, and I always stop in for icecream when I visit him. Or request that he brings me some when he comes my way. It's that good, that I have it delivered from CT to NC, and I still rave about it more than ten years after...
Read moreThis ice cream shop is easy to find. I brought my 91-year-old mom on a Sunday afternoon. Upon arrival we were happy to find a handicapped spot in front with a small ramp, as well as handles on nearby columns to help step up or down. Inside, the helpful attendants greeted us cheerfully and let me taste some flavors. My mom and I were happy with the ice cream (we go out for ice cream to a different town each week). There was a good variety, the consistency was not too heavy, and the chocolate sprinkles actually tasted chocolaty instead of waxy. The place was clean and cute. Thanks,...
