For starters, it's far as local Asian food goes, there's just is not even up to par....check out some of the lo al favorites in Oak Park or Farmington if want actual good food. I work nearby so I used to order here from time to time. I ordered carry out here a few months back but when I pulled up in the parking lot to pick it up I realized that I did not have a mask with me...my bad for sure. I called inside and asked if it was possible for someone to bring my order out… I was literally less than 10' from the front door. The response I Received was that they are no longer doing curbside and it was OK for me to come in even if I did not have a mask. I told the person on the phone that I was not comfortable with that and that I would even be willing to tip if someone could please just run it out real quick. I apologized several times for the my oversight but was also so annoyed that they jus frivolously offered to have me in, un masked. The person told me (very rudly)that that was not possible for them to bring it out....so be it. I canceled my order amd called someone else. Fast forward To today. I am at the office and so I went online to place an order for my lunch. I had a craving for some sushi so I decided to place an order at sweet Asia despite how disappointed I was in their operations a few months back. I placed my order and paid for it… and received a text message receipt that it had gone through. Upon getting in my car to pick it up, I had a missed call from them. I called them back assuming it was a call to clarify my order… the man who answered the phone told me that they canceled my order because I had an incident a few months back. Now every time I call, they hang up the phone on me even though they charged my credit card for my meal! Bottom line: BAD FOOD. BAD SERVICE. BAD...
Read moreI was really bummed out that as me and my co-workers were being seated that we saw a woman and her son arguing with the man behind the counter about being charged a dollar per person more for dining in the restaurant. The man said that the rule was instituted last month and her complaint was that she had been there last week and there was no charge. So everyone at our table looked at eachother and tried to remember if we had been charged for dining in the restaurant before and none of us thought we had. So the man behind the counter came over to get drink orders and explained to us (four white males) that Blacks did not order enough food and did not tip enough so he decided to charge them an extra dollar per person if they wanted to dine in but he wasn't going to charge us. None of us said anything, it was shocking to hear such a thing. I actually asked if anyone saw a secret camera crew somewhere filming "What Would You do?". Well true to the show I should have walked out then but I didn't drive and I was hungry so I thought of myself first. You can give me a one star review for that, I deserve it. So I stayed and observed. Other non-white people came in to pick up carry-out while I was there and the man treated them fine. So, it seems he is just selectively racist or maybe even just had a personal thing with that lady. Either way I should have just got up and left. I won't make that mistake again, I decided not order out from them or go back to their restaurant again! It stinks too because it is so hard to find a lunch place we all agree on. I'm very disappointed that this treatment is still the reality that some of us face everyday and everywhere they go....
Read moreI ordered over the phone by searching through a recommendation of my sister-in-law. She said the food was always hot and done fast, which she was correct with that. The food was extremely hot. It took me 15 minutes to get there from my house and 15 minutes back, and the food was still Burning hot when I called the woman on the phone. I could barely hear her and asked to repeat herself a few times, just because I couldn’t heat her when I got inside. My food was already done. I paid the interaction with the woman at the counter which then again she talked very low and seemed monotone like I couldn’t hear her very well. The whole transaction was quick. I did not see really anywhere to sit and if there was there was maybe one or two tables That I could remember there are some chairs directly at the front door to sit to wait for your food I had ordered shrimp, lo mein, and pork and rice. And a vegetable roll, which I was not honestly crazy about the vegetable roll. I felt like it lacked seasoning. Everything else was very good tasting. I had no complaints. Otherwise I did not like that neighborhood or maybe area that this market was situated in the service was fast, but it kind of seemed like she didn’t want to be there overall the...
