My brother wanted to take me to an A & W Restaurant while I was here visiting him. He insisted we get the A & W mug as well. When we drove up, the building looked well kept, but the menus were slightly bent (I figured lots of use). We ordered 2 root beer floats with glass mugs to go. It seemed like the lady repeated our order, but we couldn't understand how much it was. A few minutes later, an older woman (no lady by the imagination once she opened her mouth) walked out with our drinks. They looked a little odd with the way the ice cream was covering the top, but I figured everyone does them differently. The window was all the way down because that's how we're use to getting orders. "Window needs to be up a bit more"... look at each other like huh? but do as ordered. Mom was driving and she rolled down the window to get the glasses and she passed us the drinks (the woman looked perturbed at that). "Window up a bit more" and she gives us a total of like $5 or something like that. We were surprised by the price and gave the money. She kept trying to put the tray on the window and mom asked what she was doing cause we were going to go. With a snippy attitude, "OH NO YOU'RE NOT. Not with my glasses." We were all shocked. "We asked for the glasses to go" mom said in return. The woman huffed and walked back inside with us just sitting there in shock. She walked back out with our change then when asked how much it was she snipped the reply then went back in for the receipt. When we finally got to taste the drinks, they didn't meet the standards. The soda portion had a bad after taste. So all in all, I'm not sure if she had a bad day or if that's how she is, but it definitely ruined the evening for us. My poor brother was apologizing for hours afterward (even though I told him it wasn't his fault). And now instead of the mug having fun family memories, it is tainted by the bitterness and hateful attitude of...
Read moreI am a regular at this location. When I want a burger this is where I go and have never been disappointed up until the last two visits. 2 weeks ago I placed my original order, which is a cheese burger with onion rings. The burger was cold and dry and the onion rings were soggy. I let that go. Today I pulled in, it took a minute for the employee to speak over the speaker, which didn't bother me as I was waiting for my daughter to send me her order via text so I asked for a minute. The employee gave me a minute, came back and I explained I needed one more second as I was getting my daughters order on the phone. I even stated there wasn't ANYONE BEHIND ME (so I knew I was safe and not holding up the line). The employee did not say a word, I could see her turn and talk to someone and then she proceeded to tell me her MANAGER said I had to pull to the side because she just lost a customer!! I proceeded to reply with, "your manager is wrong, there isn't anyone behind me and I will now take my business elsewhere"! I am a small business owner in the Southgate community and I can honestly say, the BEST advertising comes from "word of mouth"! I have been going to this location since my kids were young (over 30 years). I feel like they have lost their touch with customer service as well as their quality of food. And to think I used to tell people if they want a great burger hit A&W on Eureka!! NOT...
Read moreLove A&W and it’s always a treat to get to go to one as there is not one where I currently live. I was super excited to see we were passing one on our trip so of course we had to stop. It was very dark when we pulled in and with us not being familiar with the area and this location we accidentally pulled up to the drive thru window before stopping at the speaker as they are not right next to each other and we missed it by accident. The girl who was working who spotted us became super annoyed and stomped her feet and rolled her eyes when she looked at us. I felt super uncomfortable right away and she stomped her foot again when walking to the window. When she opened it I apologized right away and explained to her we didn’t know where to go. She explained that we were supposed to go to the speaker but we could order at the window too. So I ordered and waited for the food. Once it was done, she handed it to us but didn’t say a single word and shut the door on us. I felt super uncomfortable as she did not hide her annoyance with us and even after apologizing to her several times she was still very cold. I didn’t get a name but she had long brown hair in braids and glasses. Definitely will be staying clear of this place going forward.
*Edited: I would just like to say I really appreciate the manager’s fast response and professionalism. Am willing to give it another...
