Caesars Coney and Grill of Southgate — Restaurant in Southgate

Went here for our first time hoping to find a new spot since our old one closed in riverview. Immediately entering it was very dead with the waitstaff sitting around in chairs staring off while there were tables with dirty dishes and food still on them. The one at the bar cashier area told us to sit where we want so we took the booth in the back corner because all the booths along the way were dirty or had food on them. The table we chose as well was also very dirty but figured we would just ask someone to clean it and a waitress came over and did. Then we were given our silverware as the waitress went to get our drinks and we noticed there was still food on both of our silverware which was disgusting. I started having a bad feeling about the place but my boyfriend wanted to stay and ride it out.

I ordered onions rings, fries, and mozzarella sticks for us simply because I wasn't trusting of how clean the cooking area was so I figured it would be simple and easy and no matter what the food would be dropped in very hot boiling oil. The waitress took our order to the window and the cook was complaining about what I ordered, that I had ordered "all three" and the waitress confirmed that that was what was ordered. The cook started cussing and getting mad about dropping 3 simple items in a fryer that he didn't even really have to mess with. Now mind you, this place is dead and I heard the entire conversation because it echoes....Then my boyfriend noticed a big wasp behind me that was flying from spot to spot on the window and that was the final straw besides being dirty and insulting. We cancelled our order and paid for our drinks and left.

I would never return here ever again and would advise everyone else to stay away. This is the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant and we even tried to ride it out since we already ordered. Disappointing service from Kay today. One customer was in the restaurant when I arrived and three girls at the counter. One girl brought my drink and told me my server would be right there. Kay took my order. I asked for butter on the side. Kay was sitting at the counter when my order came up. She motioned to another girl and then motioned to my food and pointed to me. She told the girl to bring ketchup because Kay did not know what I wanted even though I asked for butter. I also ordered a pita to go and I mentioned to this girl I wanted no sauce with my pita. No one checked on me during my meal. My hashbrowns were way over done and I could not eat them. When Kay finally came over I told her about the hashbrowns. She did offer more hashbrowns but extra crispy. I don't understand why I would want extra crispy when the first ones were over done. Thankfully she did take off my bill for the hashbrowns. She also put ranch in the carry out after I asked for no sauce. Mistakes and confusion for a small order with only a few customers makes me think it is not worth going back. Where do I start? Wanted to try some place different from my weekend norms. This place was suggested. I've driven past a million times, knew where it was, decided to stop. Please understand some complaints are because of the server and the others are the kitchen. We purchased cheese sticks and one meal came with a salad, that didn't come out until the meal was brought. When I reached the bottom of my sandwich, on the plate, a piece of hair (not mine) was in it. We asked for a refill on a beverage (clear soda). When the beverage came back to the table with the straw, the beverage inside the straw was brown (cola) possibly. What in the world? First let's say the server didn't seem to be on this planet and the bill was the wrong bill. During our meal, there were no questions about refills or if we needed anything from our server. This review may not seem like much to be concerned with however, I won't be back. I want to feel good about spending my money. Not like it was a complete waste. All places are hit or miss.
