Tony Cannoli Sweets & Eats — Restaurant in Southgate

I’ve ordered two cakes, one being the cannoli cake & now the vanilla bean cake. Both times I was very disappointed. It seems likes there’s a very thin layer of the flavored cream used, while the rest of the layers and cake are covered in a very sugary, store-bought tasting frosting. It’s almost inedible & I’m someone who has a sweet tooth. Both cakes were also very dry. I was trying to decide between the vanilla bean & cheesecake. I probably should’ve went with the cheesecake which I’m hesitant now to try, I have to scrape off most of the frosting to even be able to eat the vanilla bean cake, which is half the cake in the trash. If the cannoli cake had at least all of the layers with the cannoli cream & maybe some better frosting I would’ve ordered it again. It was good, I’m not sure why it’s being ruined by being covered in that very thick, sugary frosting & why the cannoli cream isn’t used in all the layers. The Southgate location is awful, it's like they get leftovers from the Trenton store or something. On several occasions now I've had stale cupcakes and desserts. The frosting is stale as well as the cake itself. I have had this on several occasions. This last time I went in I purchased a lobster tail, this was the first time to try it and the pastry was so hard, I could have chipped a tooth. I just threw it away instead, complete waste of money. Also, the last two times I've gone I had service issues. The first time they gave me the wrong item, I called to exchange it but didn't go back up there. This last time I asked for an item and it was not in the box. I would go to the Trenton store if you want it fresh. I suspect they know this already bc they rarely advertise for this location on their their FB page. If you want fresh pastry and desserts go to their Trenton location. There needs to be better quality control in this other location. I'm so disappointed bc this isn't how they started out over here and they were a special...

Extremely disappointing Carrot Cake! Carrot cake has a cream cheese frosting...

Not a buttercream that is too sweet to eat. And cake to frosting ratio was way off. The layer between the top and bottom cakes was at least 3/4 of an inch thick (see pics). I scraped off the frosting and ate the remaining cake, and that was drier than a pop corn fart. Zero moisture in the cake.

I love carrot cake and order it almost anytime I see it on a menu or in a store. Sadly I've had better off the counter at 7-11.

Definitely won't ever buy that again. I'll stick to...
