E's Pizza "A Taste of New York" — Restaurant in Southington

Not from the area, in town working, just wanted to grab a local slice, and I couldn't be happier.

Owner chatted with me for a minute after I ordered my pizza. He was friendly, down to earth and genuinely seems to love what he does.

If I understood correctly, he's only been in business for himself a short while, but the taste of the pizza should keep him up and running for a long time.

Sausage was a crumbled product, not the disgusting pre-cooked balls like you get from the national chains. I asked before I ordered because I hate the other style.

Lastly, not sure if the owner is going to appreciate this or not, but order directly from the place, when you use Slice, the app, they take a huge cut out of these places. Maybe for this owner it is convenient for him because they (Slice) can act as the cashier/order point, so he might not mind, and tons of people ordering directly keeps him away from the cooking part, but the Slice app...heard a lot of complaints from other pizzeria owners about the fees they have to pay. We didn't talk about this, so as I stated, I may be speaking out of turn on this last part, just...

I was a little disappointed at the pizza here. I liked the staff. Really friendly people, smelled really good, but when it came down to it, it just didn’t hold up. Pizza was super dry, the bottom of the pizza was separating from the rest of the slice. The margarita pie was pretty good, and so was the meat lovers pizza. They use really good bacon here for their pies. The buffalo pizza was a huge flop. All my guests unfortunately agreed on the buffalo pizza. Not sure if I would come back here to eat. Still better then a lot of places around here though…. I miss New Haven.

UPDATE: Took Mr. E up on his offer to come back and try the pizza again; this time made by himself. Wow. What a difference. I had to stop myself from eating the whole pizza to my face. I appreciate good food, and I try to be as honest as possible everywhere I go. I can now confidently say, this is great pizza! Definitely deserves 5 stars. Will likely be my regular spot to get pizza. Love a restaurant that is passionate about their product....

Food: amazing his crust is perfect the sauce is an experience of flavor combined with the subtle over tone of sweetness. Now my office orders pizza from the location so if eatin it in the past. Today I had the privilege of visiting the location and assuming meet the owner with 2 others behind the counter. I said his sauce was amazing we started chatting and I don’t know how but we started talking about how I was going to see my father in recovering from medieval issue and wanted to surprise him with some great New Haven pie.(my father was raise on Wooster street so he knows and loves pizza) He than proceeds to say the pizza is on the house. I was like no please let me pay he said it’s on me. This was first interaction with this man in person and I can say nothing but what are you waiting for go get a pizza pie or whatever else is in the menu because...
