Steak 'n Shake — Restaurant in Spanish Lake

This has got to be the nastiest steak and shake ever. I don't know if hat the issue is but the quality is horrible. Got a kids hot dog meal and there was DIRT and GRIME on the container with my daughter's dog sitting in it. There is no way someone missed this. They just didn't care!!! Honestly I wish I could just upload the picture instead of writing a review to describe how nasty it was. The girl taking my order had almost 2 inch acrylic nails which obviously isn't safe in food service as everyone knows they harbor bacteria. I previously had an incident with them where we were served RANCID salsa. At first it wasn't a big deal. I just wanted to inform them so that they wouldn't serve it to anyone else. I get things happen although this is a restaurant and food expiration dates should be thoroughly checked. When I called the lady told me it wasn't rancid because she just made it this morning. I had to wait until after class and drive 30 mins back to North County to show the lady this salsa to which another manager responded "OMG that is spoiled!" What concerns me even more than the unsanitary and unsafe practices with food handling is the lack of remorse or empathy in these situations which leads me to believe this type of stuff happens all...

This is a good steak & shake had been there for years had gone and now has returned. "thankfully" and the Managers are cooking your food to order my Good and Hot 🌶️ Chili 5ways was Good and still Hot when I got home and burgers and ice cream Malts were Good too will return for the CHILI, 5 way Chili 🌶️ and burgers and SHAKES 😋 THANKS for given the Area another chance👍✌️in having a STL staple still around to enjoy and the MEMORIES of have EATEN here past and present 💝 REVISITED on 2/28/2023 around 1:00 pm and there was a little bit of a change ,the nice girls was gone and my Great CHILI 5 ways Portion WAS LESS ! My advice is : Don't try TO FIX Something that AINT BROKE ,it was Fine just the way it was ✌️ revisited 6/6/2023 completely changed to hardly Kno over the counter interaction All Computerized kinda feels like you are using a ATM Machine to self order Now but Chili and Shakes Burgers Special an Drive Thru Ordering are still GOOD just DIFFERENT Vibe on...

The drive thru wait was really not that bad, but there was a wait time. We ordered one of the combo's for I think 4.00. Double cheese burgers with everything on it. They do not come with drinks so you do have to pay extra. My son ordered chicken fingers combo with fries...which we checked the bag and his fries were not there, tried to get back in line, but it was too long and we had an appointment to get to. Anyway....the customer service was good it was a young man that was on point. Listen and very friendly. The food was hot nothing was cold. I was impressed on that...they just forgot my son fries. We did try and wait for curbside for someone to come out but there were 3 cars waiting for that. The price was not expensive...I think 3 meals with drinks was like 28.00 or so...overall mot bad...just forgot my sin fries...which I shared mine but he kept 😲...
