New in this area of town, I relied on good reviews on internet and found this place. The building was very nice looking and there were many cars parked outside. So I went in thinking that this must be a great place to have an authentic Mexican dish. The waitress was very friendly who sounded like she knows the menu very well. The beef dish I asked her about, she said, is tender, so I ordered it. But when it came out after waiting for 20 minutes, I was surprised that it came with a very thin beef steak covered with grey colored sauce that did not look appealing. The beef was so tough to chew, it felt like chewing a rubber. Needless to say, I could not eat that rubber after one bite. So, I quickly got out after paying $23.00 for that piece of rubber covered with grey sauce. I was still very hungry, so I drove 3 miles to Pancho & Willie's at Western Village and I had excellent Mexican dinner at better price. So, relying on good reviews can be a big...
Read moreWe were seated quickly and service was good. We ordered the fajita burrito and Carne asada plate and two kids meals nachos. The Carne asada was gross meat, seemed to be cooked on too low heat for too long, so seemed baked instead of seared. Pretty sure the "salsa" served with chips is literally enchilada sauce out of a can. The refried beans taste like they were heated up straight out of a can....the fajita burrito wasn't bad, but not what hoped for. It is not just a big fajita wrapped in a burrito sized tortilla with guacamole and sour cream, which is what I hoped for...instead it is fajita meat and veggies alone, served with canned enchilada sauce poured on it. The enchilada advertised as cheese and onion, did not have onion...which was the reason it was selected as its rare to find restaurants who actually add onions. Overall the food was not tasty and not worth the price at all. It is not like the south reno...
Read moreLovely service, terrible food!
Was looking to grab a bite at a Mexican food restaurant. Upon walking in, the guest service was really nice but the interior looked a lot like an Irish Pub and the food was bland, I felt like I could’ve made better Mexican food at home. The chips looked like they just opened up a bag of Tostitos and poured them into a basket and their salsa is pretty much all tomato sauce and no spice. There is no authenticity about Los Compadres at all. The ambience doesn’t feel Mexican and they state they have fine Mexican food on their sign but there is nothing Fine about their food. We go to restaurants for the purpose of them making better food than we can make at home but this time at this restaurant we feel like we could’ve made something better at home. Also what Mexican food restaurant DOESNT...
