Plug this place into GPS right now! My husband and I fell in love with this darling family-owned kitchen and bakery. We didn’t plan it, while we were walking by, I noticed the sign and said to my husband, let’s go see… Maybe they have coffee because the shop down the street was closed. We hit the jackpot with this kitchen and bakery! I met the owner Jill and she has this wonderful spirit. Our server Ashley was just as friendly and so personable, making the most incredible suggestions. We tried what she called, a “killer mac & cheese.” I mean, you can’t hear those words and not try it, and she also suggested a wonderful Banh Mi. Yum! They also sent out a refreshing cucumber salad. My husband is the pickiest eater and he enjoyed everything! We both agreed that every bite was a burst of flavors. But the best part is the atmosphere, the people, it feels like you landed in a Hallmark film, even the other customers made small talk with us and had suggestions. These folks are happy!
While my husband waited for the food, I explored the space, including Touch of Grace. I checked out their antique section as well, the review is coming next. Oh yes, I forgot to mention that the coffee was perfect! My only regret is that I didn’t try a baked good....
Read moreWhat an amazing find this was. Nestled in the back on an Antique mall in this small North Carolina mountain town is a gem of a restaurant. From the friendly staff to the welcoming atmosphere and of course, the delicious food this is an absolutely fabulous place. It was a bit chilly when we visited so i opted for the Vegan Phở. I've had this dish all over the place, including some of the best places in NYC and this was hands down the best I've had - it was simply scrumptious. Everything we ordered was superb including the Mediterranean salad, sweet potato and chick pea fritters, apple tart and coffee. I asked to speak to the chef. Steve came out and we spoke briefly. It turns out - no surprise here - that he lived in Hong Kong and worked at some of the finest restaurants in NC. I pressed him for the his Phở recipe and he did share his key ingredient with me. Also spoke with his wife and co-owner Jill, the pastry chef for a bit. What an amazing couple and what an amazing place they've created here in this quaint little...
Read moreA Hidden Gem in Sparta I recently had the pleasure of dining at Little Seed kitchen and bakery in Sparta and was absolutely blown away. Despite arriving late for lunch, the friendly staff welcomed us warmly and promptly served us. The food was simply outstanding. I had the pho with brisket, which was flavorful and hearty. My mom opted for the Mediterranean plate and sweet potato fritters, and she couldn't stop raving about how delicious they were. Both dishes were beautifully presented and arrived at the table in a timely manner. What truly impressed me was the affordability of the meals. For the quality and taste, the prices were incredibly reasonable. It's a refreshing change to find such great value in a small town.
