Shake Shop — Restaurant in Spindale

Well I decided to stop in at the shake shop and order my dinner come out and that is what prompted me to do this review. If I’ve had a bad experience at a restaurant and I’m forced to lever somewhat negative review, which btw I hate doing As I realized everyone makes a mistake. That being said, I will wait at least a month before visiting that restaurant again in order to keep my reviews unbiased. Right off the bat when I placed my to go order,the amount given by the cashier got my attention. It was $3.91 higher than the price on the menu.. When I question the cashier she pointed to a hand written cardboard sign that read “ Do to covid19 we are raising prices by 10% but will lower them when the economy picks back up.” Ok lady. However the price of my order on the menu is $6.50 so 10% more would be $7.15 not $10.41.She just looked at me & never said a word. I paid for my order and continue to wait. I had ordered condiments to prepare my baked potato with and some 57 sauce for the hamburger steak. When my order was up I stepped ahead to get it and asked “did they put my butter and sour cream in there?“ She replied “yes and I put in your 57 and silverware.” Thanking her I got my food and went out the door and drove home to eat my dinner. I’ll take it out open it up & immediately have 5 problems. 1. Lettuce & tomato Is Not a Salad anywhere in the world. It is lettuce and tomato. 👀 No butter No sour cream No 57 No silverware That lady just stood right before me not even 15 mins earlier & Flat Out Lied to me. She knew she had not put any of that stuff in with that food and being busy and getting confused cannot be used here because I was the only one in there waiting for food and the staff had gathered around looking at someone’s pictures on their phone. This is the same staff that is always there in fact I think this particular one might be part owner I’m not sure but she’s been there forever. I don’t know what brought all this on unless it was Mike inquiring about the crazy total price of my food but little did she know, I am an influencer for Google maps, product tester&reviewe associate, & content monitor/evaluation mgr for many top brands who takes pride in the honest unbiased reports & reviews submitted for the public whether they be for top brands or small local businesses. I ate part of my lettuce and tomato & 1/2 my hamburger steak. Couldn’t eat the baked potato without the ordered toppings(which btw i was charged an xtra $1.09 for the sour cream which I didn’t get). If anyone noticed my last review, which this one replaces, You would have noticed that not quite the exact problems occurred but somewhat similar as my hamburger had the 2 pieces of tomato that make it to the trash-the very top stem piece as well as the hard white core and fries instead of onion rings... Also I found it humorously interesting that when you place your order or pick it up, before ever seeing or tasting your food, you are asked everytime, “Do you want to add a tip to this?” Everytime! I think the next time I’m asked this before even receiving my phone I’m going to respond with “do you?“ However I seriously doubt I will be patronizing the shake shop in the future as this has been my third review in one years time and they’ve all been 1-2 star only. Which is sad because the shake shop was once one of the best restaurants in Rutherford county North Carolina & Among one of the first to be recommended to “out of towners” however the last few years it’s quickly turned into a Toss Up between them & chicken McNuggets. A 6 piece might just hit the spot right now. I no longer feel comfortable recommending the shake shop therefore I will be removing it from my list.

Back when I lived down here from 2007-2018 I use to eat here all the time. Dine in and take out. I happen to be in town for the week and on Monday march 27 me and my daughter decided to eat here for lunch. We walked in about 1245 waited almost 10-15 minutes before our order was taken. It's was almost an hr before we got our food and there was literally our table and two others. But one table had already had good and was almost done. The service was very slow. I figured maybe it was just an off day for the server. (I used to serve before for 20 years). Thought I would give it another try and went there today 3-29-23 and it was worse. We waited hr and 15 mins for food. Another table had walked in after we did, the server took their order after ours and their food was served way before ours. They had also ate and paid before we even got served. When we finally got our food my daughters meal so was hard u couldn't even put a fork into it. My daughter's father's meal was so sloppy made and so much cheese he couldn't taste anything on it. My others daughter grill cheese was half burnt on one side. Once our server served us our food she never came back until we were just about ready to leave and all she did was bring us refills which we didn't need bc our cups were still nearly full. There were two girl waiting table and there were total of five tables. Hell there were even Togo orders coming out long before ours that called in well after we placed our order. Another table we heard complaining too about the wait for the food. Needless to say I will not be returning here. They use to have great service and wonderful food. But I've been there twice in a week and both times it was not what...

After a long day of being out and about we stopped here on the way home for dinner. My biggest gripe is the name. How is a place called SHAKE shop when they only offer 5 flavors? I mean I don’t think it’s unrealistic to expect a place to match its name? But getting over that first bump, the place is okay. I can understand why it might be a place locals love but being from out of town, it’s not worth a stop. The waitress was nice enough. The food was extremely basic. Like if I was at home I could have made the same exact meal to a T no problem. There wasn’t anything that made it special or made it stand out to where I would want to go back again. The fries didn’t even have salt on them and the cheese fries looked like they had been microwaved. The booths are hard wood with no cushion so I had to switch seats with my daughter who was sitting in a chair on the end cuz there was no way I could sit on that bench longer then 10 mins… The bathroom is so small you’ll hit your head on the wall getting up from the toilet if your not careful!! Just not worth the stop. McDonald’s would have...
