Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Spirit Lake

Such a dive. NEVER again will I eat there. Rude and unprofessional employees. If this had zero stars I would DEFINATLY give them that because that's all they deserve. Cannot belive what she said to us. I guess working with pigs is a shame now. Her insultes were very hurtful and never in my life with I give Spirit Lake Dairy Queen business again. The short heavy women with short white hair is one of the rudest people I've EVER met in my life. We were simply eating NOT causing any trouble. Finished are meal, and began to walk out. We were half way out and she sprinted over saying "Oh my god, you stink" we tried being nice saying "Sorry we just got done working with pigs and were very hungry." So she went on about saying "THIS IS MY STORE, YOU NEED TO LEAVE. THIS WILL NOT BE TOLERATED." So we just left... and she said ALOT more. Those were VERY hurtful insults. That short, heavy, women, with white hair and a short hair style, deserves to be fired. So disappointed with Spirit Lake Dairy Queen. Sad thing for them is, we ate there 3, 4 times a week in the summer. That manager caused so much trouble. Just beacuse one RUDE person, they have lost out on hundreds of dollars. Well, not my fault, all...

I was there with my 7 year old for dinner earlier this week. I hate going there for food as the new owners/managers have run the place into the ground and the food is terrible.

The old pop machine carcass has been sitting off to the side for WEEKS. The place is not clean. Our toast was dripping oil and the chicken strips were not good (as usual).

The employees are not appropriately trained or dressed. Our order taker drank fountain soda while taking our order.

After we sat down two of the employees got into a very heated argument which lasted several minutes and culminated in a "get the blank out out of my kitchen" comment. My 7yo asked if they were arguing.

I had thought about getting up, leaving, and calling the police as it sounded like it was escalating to a physical altercation. It was that bad.

What an embarrassment all around. The current owners do not deserve your business. It's clear they don't care as I've been there numerous times since they took over and I've never seen them.

On an unrelated note the prices are outrageous. I paid almost $6 for a small sundae a few weeks ago. Their flyer was promoting the all day $7 meals...but apparently this DQ isn't...

Terrible service. I will not be returning ever to this Dairy Queen. I made an order that I wanted and a lady that was working there handed me my order and complained to me pretty much stating how stupid I was for ordering what did order. Very unprofessional and accused me of ordering the same thing in the past saying she “knew I would throw a fit, because supposedly I did this this the last time” which actually I’ve never even ordered this type of blizzard ever from this location and was not complaining at all about my blizzard. I just wanted to take my order and be on with my day, but instead I was getting a lecture from a worker at the window that then proceeded to shut the window on me. So sad that people think it’s ok to treat individuals like this, I really hope she re-evaluates herself and never treats anyone like this ever again. I’ve never in my life been treated like this by anyone, especially being a customer. If you want to be treated like dirt, then maybe this would be the Dairy Queen to go to. But if you want to be respected I’d suggest you go to another Dairy...
