We came in on the Sunday evening of Labor Day weekend, with two adults and five kids. The cashier was friendly. There was a small "issue" (I almost wouldn't even call it that, more like a minor inconvenience) with my PR Rewards. She said she could add the points from our visit to my account with only my phone number, but apparently I wasn't able to use my $2 off reward without having my actual rewards card (who has room to carry all those cards from businesses). She was overly apologetic, and I could tell she felt bad, but I wasn't really bothered by it. After all, I didn't even know I had a reward until she told me.
We have been to this location a handful of times when visiting the area, and they are always busy. One thing I don't understand, is why the buffet area is so small!?! It could be set up so much better. There's a ton of seating, and not much room for food. You could even take out the game area if needed.
When it comes to the food, most was good. The fried chicken and potatoes was out every time we went to get some. My boyfriend voted to go here just for the chicken, and ended up having to stand and wait for it a couple of times. The section where the chicken is, I only saw mixed vegetables, mashed potatoes and gravy, and chicken (when it was there). There were two or three other spots there with old food in them, that I never saw get refilled when we were there. Also, we overheard another table talking about it, and have asked each other the same...what is the spaghetti/marinara sauce for? There is no pasta or bread there. It's a head scratcher for most it sounds like.
Overall, the rest of the staff we encountered were not overly friendly or seem like they wanted to speak to anyone. It was busy, but that's when people should be conversing the most.
I do have a few suggestions/things that could be improved or fixed. Some are minor and silly, but I'd like to hear it if it were my business:
For some reason, there are only plastic spoons. Why don't you serve soup? Any other Pizza Ranch I have been to, does. The large stall in the women's restroom, the door doesn't line up right for it to latch and close. A lot of the pizzas are hard to tell what they are, and some even look identical. I have seen some Pizza Ranches mark them. This would be helpful, especially for those who may not want/are unable to have certain ingredients. Again, at other locations, they will ask when you pay, if you have any requests for pizza. This has never been asked here. I'm not sure if pricing is set a a franchise or if it comes from ownership, but it would be nice if pricing was more family-friendly. My 6-year-old who barely eats should not cost over $8 to eat one plate. Would also be nice to have lesser cost for ages 13-15 instead of...
Read moreLove pizza ranch in spirit lake, it's become a my daughter loves going to. Buffet is nice, broke up into three serving areas, (pizza bar, salad bar, and chicken bar including mashed potatoes, gravey, biscuits and a few other things as well on the chicken bar). Environment is friendly and welcoming with a ranch/cowboy style decor. This pizza ranch is a local favorite and is usually busy...The game room/Arcade area is a little lacking. The have a side by side .50 cent boat racing games, a rudy ride on .25 cent kids type machine, various (3 or 4) claw games ranging from a dollar to .50 cents and one electric block stacking game (I think a dollar not sure). Boat game is alright, the candy claw machine is nice prize everytime and it's only .50 cents however the other 1.00 claw games are rip offs, the prizes are c like cheap balls and cheap stuff animals some characters I've never even seen or heard. I've even seen a stuff hot sause bottle in their as a prize I think if they got rid of those and put in a couple actual arcade games it would be a lot better. Those 1.00 claw machines are a rip off hardly see anyone win and alot of frustrated parents who just shelled out for a family to eat a moderately expensive buffet meal trying to explain to their kids they aren't getting another 5 bucks to play that rip off claw machine for a stupid stuffed hot sause bottle lol. Get rid of the claw machines (except the everybody wins a price of candy one) and get a couple actual arcade games it would be great little arcade room for...
Read moreThe cheap children that run this location need an attitude adjustment. They are rude and very unprofessional. If I ever ran a business as pour as these infantile chimps do, I'd be hard pressed to get any customers. I believe that the Name Brand is the only thing keeping this location open. The place was disgusting and this place was full of tables that had not been cleaned off or cleared of the food that had been obviously sitting on them for quite some time.
If you want to dine at a place which is full of flies and to be treated rude like you just stepped on somebody's toe, or if you want to be rushed out of the building an hour before it closes (according to google anyway) then by all means this is the location for you.
As for me I personally will never enter another Pizza Ranch until this entire staff is fired and replaced.
