Pete's Pizza — Restaurant in Spokane

Finally tried food - doesn't really change my opinion it wasn't that great - too salty not enough sauce - I used to make calzones I wasn't impressed I guess I just don't see why people are so crazy about this place -- Unfortunately I can't leave a good review my boyfriend has been telling me about the place for a while not being from Spokane I had never been and it was a bad first and only experience ordered milk with a calzone and salad plus water - the milk was 17 days past it's expiration date and was bad I spit it on the table no napkins to be found we looked my boyfriend had to grab a towel cause even though we had advised staff why there was spoiled milk on the table nobody cleaned it up then they brought us our salads and a refund which was nice considering all we ended up getting was water and salad before we left cause nobody came back to the table with the rest of our order my boyfriend was gonna leave the $20 plus refund as a tip for staff cause we are both reasonable people and we did not make a scene over a little spilled milk however after our experience there last night I don't see myself returning I puked and have had a stomach ache since ultimately had they brought us the rest of the food we ordered I probably would not have left a good review but I wouldn't have left a...

I was a little disappointed. I had friends at work talking about how amazing the calzones are but I was unsure as I don't really like cheese. I love pizza but I always order it with light cheese. My friends assured me that they would accommodate that since the calzones are made fresh. I ordered 3 calzones for delivery. The wait time was a bit longer than the website quoted but it was a Friday night so it's understandable. When the food arrived all the calzones were in one pizza box but completely unmarked. The only way to tell which calzones had certain toppings was to cut them open. That was frustrating because I would have liked to keep my spouse's intact and warm since he was coming home late. I hoped to find mine with light cheese and extra saucy as it had ordered but it was so fully loaded with cheese that I had a hard time even telling what toppings it had. I had to scoop out cheese in giant clumps to make it edible for myself and it definitely wasn't extra saucy. We love Pete's Pizza, and since the nw Blvd location is just blocks from where we live, we like to walk there for dinner. I really really want to be able to give them 5 stars, but there are a couple of experiences that prevent me from doing that. The first few times we went, everyone loved it. My husband and I are vegetarian and it's hard to find options that are filling and delicious, but we found them here. But on more than one occasion, the calzones haven't been cooked enough. The bread is still dough in places and that ruins the meal for me because it feels undercooked and therefore gives me a queasy feeling so I lose my appetite.
