Rincon Tapitio - translation Rincon/Corner Tapitio/people from Guadalajara. In other words, it's not Sanoran style Mexican food. If you're looking for Sanoran/Northern Mexico Mexican food this is not the place. The building is old, tiny parking lot, clean hole-in-the-wall restaurant, decor good, portions good, prices are $12-$18 per dinner plates. In our party, we liked the rice and refried beans, but not much else. We tried 6 Mexican dinner items, & only liked the arrachera steak. Chips & salsa cost extra for refill. Friendly staff. Colorado beef had a weird tomato based sauce that wasn't enjoyable. Enchilada sauce, & sauce on chimi was mediocre at best. Avoid the Ground beef, shredded chicken OK, shredded beef was flavorless and not shredded, just big tough chunks. Hate to bag on the place, but it was disappointing. Could be because lived in Arizona too long, & spoiled us on loads of great Mexican places there. Hard to find a good Sanoran style Mexican place in Spokane Coeur d'Alene area. Only found one good one in the couple of years living up here. There's a really good place in Coeur d'Alene on the 95, just before...
Read moreWe were in Spokane visiting family and decided we wanted to have Mexican Cuisine for dinner. We searched Google and went off reviews and stars. Obviously we chose one with high stars, praise and good looking food pictures. It was a bust. The place was dirty at 430pm. Not a clean table to sit at and no one offering to clean one for use even though it was apparent we were searching for a clean one! So we left. We searched Google again... This time we chose Rincon Tapatio. It was clean and welcoming. The staff was quick to greet and seat us. Offering drinks immediately. Soon returning with chips, salsa and waters. The service throughout was exceptional. We never waited nor wanted for anything. They kept our beverages full. Our group ordered a Taco Salad, Camarones a la Diabla, Chile Relleno and enchilada. It was fresh, hot items were nice and hot and cold items were perfectly chilled. The flavors were spot on! The Camarones was adequately spicy without being ridiculously so. Pricing and decor was what you would expect from such a restaurant. Highly recommend. I can not say enough about the...
Read moreAs someone who has lived most of my life in Texas, New Mexico, southern Arizona and California, eating at local restaurants on both sides of the border of all those locales, I was more than pleasantly surprised to find an authentic Mexican restaurant in Washington state, or Baja Canada, as I refer to it.The flavors of Mexican food varies greatly from one cuisine to another across Mexico, just as American foods do across the United States, so I must take issue with the reviewer from Yakima, which at my last check was about 1500 miles from Mexico. I found some of the best Sonoran flavors I've had the opportunity to taste on either side of the border at Rincon Tapatio. The staff treat you like family and feed you like family. I've eaten here many times, and intend to many more. The prices are in line with any good restaurant, and lower than many. The food is delicious, and has always been plentiful. Rincon Tapatio is a must visit in Spokane for any Sonoran...
