On a whim I decided to visit D's this week. D's holds a special place in my heart as I have enjoyed dining with the Captain since I was young (all here in Williamson county).
I had not ever dined in at this location, but I thought what the hell why not.
Dining room was large and mostly clean, but vibes were real sad and the floor was slightly sticky. The woman who took my order was friendly, but hot dang I was shook when I saw my total, D's has gone thru the whole "Californian moves here and then the price of EVERYTHING skyrockets." Except I aint from Cali and I remember the good ole days of Wilco being affordable. But I digress.....
My fish and chicken combo was tasty, but I was mega shorted on the sizes of chicken. If your chicken makes a CFA tender look big, then you have a small tender (looking at you Captain).
Also, pretty sad that the delicious battered fries are gone, I was given a sad fry. Thankfully the Captains honey mustard game remains STRONG.
All in all, tasty food but they dont make em like they used to. Ill keep eating here, but looks like I should expect to bring my piggy bank and expect...

The water from the fountain that day trickled, and it was faster to ask for a cup to be filled from behind the counter. Their service is great at the counter. Bathroom and restaurant were clean. My husband loved that the green beans were made with ham. They did switch our sides up or our main platter up (whichever way you want to see it), but no biggie. The fries did not impress me and neither did the fried fish. It was the hushpuppies and the crab cakes...

The window clerk was very nice... I had a 12 hour day and if I stop and buy food at an establishment I want your food to be fresh, hot and you want it to be hot, I don't know what happened to customer service or the standard of excellence the restaurants industries use to abide by... The list of reputable places to get a hot meal on the run...
